Light works wish I would have thought to buy an LED but you can buy LED bulbs to replace this incandescent save yet decent amount of battery all in all it's a decent pole light I didn't buy the taller one probably should have the boating regulations States that the Stern light is supposed to be positioned 3 ft higher than the bow light so you know there's that
