Read whole review….The seat post and base set is GREAT! Awesome product from Atwood/Springfield as always.Now the delivery from Amazon. Looked at me tracking and it said package was handed directly to Tim (me) and signed for.Knowing that I didn’t sign for anything or received any deliveries, I began that dreaded Easter egg hunt around my property (at night) looking for my package. After no success I requested a call from a very helpful Amazon associate who informed me that the package was delivered to the house with the brown roof. Mine has a green roof. That was my mother in laws house and she said she didn’t sign for nothing. After searching around her house it was located on a porch in front of a door that they never use. No door knock or anything from the driver.I know mistakes happen, but saying “handed to the resident and signed for” was a deliberate lie.What if my item had been dropped at a dishonest persons home? Not sure if I will use Amazon again because of their incompetent uber style delivery drivers that could care less about someone’s money, only concerned with their own credit for “delivery”. Absolutely ridiculous

Good post, solid construction, and has a strong mount for the floor. Sadly it didn’t fit my needs, but was impressed overall.

First off, the seat base mount has a slight downward tilt to the front of the seat. A little noticeable but not a deal breaker. I’m guessing to help alleviate extra pressure to the seat back when going full send…I’ve used these products in the past and have always been satisfied. Will continue to use and recommend.

This is a sturdy product. I installed in my fishing boat to add more seating that I could remove as needed. It wasn't that hard to install and is sturdier then the pedestal seating that came with the boat. It arrived quickly and in great shape. I will defiantly purchase again.

Top plate is fine but you better hose down the inner tube regularly with a thicker rust preventative. This happened after 1 rain!

The picture of the product showing the base And the post connecting is incorrect. They put it together upside down. That base is intended to be mounted flush to the mounting surface. The base should be flipped over so the part of the base that is sticking up in the picture will need a whole to drop into. This will mean drilling one if there isn’t one already. I suppose you may be able to use it as shown but I don’t think it was intended by the manufacturer. It definitely won’t be as sturdy or esthetically pleasing that way.I’ve bought 4 of these so far. The first one I paid full price for, the other three I got on sale. I only needed 2 but it was a good deal and these are useful on almost any boat. These screw into the base, which I like better than the ones that just pop in. They seem just a little bit sturdier than the pop ins. It only swivels where the seat meets the post. The other kind swivel at the seat mount and floor mount giving the post a slight wiggle. The bases were not powder coated like the pop ins though. I have one of each kind on my bass boat to see if they hold up as long as the powder coated bases.
