This works very well, but the headphone audio amplification gain is inadequate, had to run it through a separate headphone amplifier.

I love this... now I can use my studio mic when recording with my phone. It is a game changer for me... and did I mention, it works perfectly??

Really. It just worked, and was easy. Doesn't kill the battery at all. Thrillingly average and sufficient for folks needs.

Though this is a niche product, if like me you have need for this type of preamp/adapter (allowing phantom power but also allowing you to not put phantom power on the line), it should not disappoint. It solved a headache I had trying to use two separate XLR mics (one needing phantom power; the other not needing it) and running them to a camera. Works superbly. Highly recommended!

Using this Comica AD2 XLR adapter for sound recording was a great experience, and I must admit that using the audio jack as input for my sound recordings was a real need for me, and I was absolutely impressed with the performance. This Comica AD2 XLR adapter was extremely easy to use, and no additional settings are required. The sound quality is really impressive, and the knob for gain is responsive, and it works very nice and smooth. Build quality is excellent, and the XLR adapter feels premium, well-made, and is also lightweight. The 9V battery is not included in the box, but the 48 phantom power does an excellent job when it is powered. The preamp noise was extremely low, and it wasn't noticeable in any of my sound records.I can only recommend this COMICA AD2, an excellent audio interface adapter, very practical, portable, powerful, and delivers a good sound quality for streaming, podcasting, voice and instruments recordings.

This was just the thing I was looking for to provide me with a portable mic preamp with phantom power and a volume control. Sound quality is great and has plenty of headroom with the gain control to get a clean boost of volume when needed. Couldn't be more pleased with this. If they only would have included a port to plug in an A/C power adapter..but there are ways around that.

Easily the best purchase I've made in the last few years. It's quite literally changed my audio.I purchased an inexpensive shotgun mic a year or so ago and was unhappy with the sound quality and the noise that it carried whenever I would try to record. After researching it, I learned that despite being powered, it had no measurable pre-amp on it.Learning more about audio, I picked up this separate pre-amp, allowing me to boost the signal while lowering the mic sensitivity and the noise vanished. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to clean up audio noise and hiss, this is literally one of the best purchases you can make.

Received for unbiased review...This phantom power adapter is easy to use and works well with my computer mic jack, but I had to use a cable splitter. (For testing I have used a rechargeable 9V NiMh battery - it is powered by a standard 9V battery (not included) which is good that you can easily replace the battery and use rechargables of your choice). The cable attached to the device is designed for cell phone use and has a 4 connector 3.5mm male connector. I had to use a 3.5mm cable adapter that splits the mic and headphones into separate connectors. The problem I had with this is that the splitter ended up in reverse (mic was headphones, headphones was mic output). I don't know if this was a problem with the third party adapter, or if there is something wired differently with the phantom adapter. I have a video that demonstrates the product but I am not posting it yet because I waiting for the manufacturer to reply a question I had. (Amazon also had trouble processing the video) I'm reducing a star because, for the price of this unit, it should have come with the PC adapter.

I couldn't get the thing to work AT ALL. The lights would come on, but I never was able to produce sound through this unit.

I needed a preamp for my Comica Microphone and decided to stay within the brand. I really like the small footprint of this little pre-amp and have it attached to the desk boom that the mic is on.Good sound, good performance, and a very small footprint makes the microphone a super great addition to my audio approach to content creation.Good small pre-amp. You won't be disappointed.

I only use XLR microphones for recording voice-over on my computer through an Audio Interface. But sometime I work on my trip and I don’t have the audio interface with me so this Comica preamp adapter is a great solution to connect my XLR microphone to my laptop or my iPad and it works very well. The sound quality is very decent. It could get some noise if you turn the volume knob on the preamp to high. The preamp is powered by a 9V battery and it lasts quite long.
