About this item

  • [Twin JFET | 2 Pairs of Transistors per Channel] JFET has high input impedance and rich sound. The S17 Pro’s Twin JFET is more than that - same temperature rises, same performances and stable mid-point voltage. It’s the ideal input transistor of a headphone amp. | The final output stage uses 2 pairs of output transistors in parallel. The whole device has as many as 16 output transistors. Max output is as high as 7.5 W. It can drive all kinds of headphones and IEMs with ease
  • [Class-A, 2 Levels of Current/Gain] 50 mA/100 mA per transistor; each channel has 2 pairs of transistors in parallel, so the quiescent current of each channel is as high as 100 mA/200 mA. The sound of a class-A amp is mellow, warm and smooth; 2 gain levels: the low gain takes advantage of the class-A amp’s feature that the transistors are always working in the linear area to drive the lEMs well and properly, while the high gain is as high as 7.5 W and thus can drive headphones well with big power
  • [R2R Electronic Volume Chip | Rigorous HiFi Component Selection] The S17 Pro uses the R2R electronic volume chip from JRC and the dedicated op-amps to build the 4-way balanced R2R volume control. High control precision, great channel balance, wide soundstage, accurate positioning. | The components used for the S17 Pro are high-quality ones that are carefully selected, such as the high-quality HiFi electrolytic capacitors, the ceramic capacitors, the organic thin-film capacitors, the communicatio
  • [2 Colors to Present Current Level/Temperature | Overheat Protection | 3-Dimensional Cooler Structure] 100 mA mode is a high current Class A operation mode, similar to the GT mode in a racing car. There will be a slow temperature rise. (If the headphone impedance is low, it can lead to a faster temperature rise.) When the device temperature reaches 69 °C, due to overheat protection, the S17 Pro will auto switch to 50 mA Class A current mode which still maintains very good sound quality
  • Powerful and Rich-Sounding | Aesthetic Tuning The S17 Pro uses the 50 W low-ripple toroidal transformer and dual-power design. Digital control and analog are independent from each other, so the analog part can be free from interference. What’s more, it has the 19200 μF capacitor array. They together make the S17 Pro so powerful and rich-sounding. | The tuning is based on real instrument sounds and music pieces referencing, leading to the signature that is natural and full of musicality
  • Please Note - The product must be used at 110V voltage. Excessive voltage will damage the product

Headphone Amp

As aune's new generation of fully-discrete class-A headphone amp, the S17 Pro has the features of twin JFET, R2R volume control, 2 levels of current to select from (50mA/100mA class-A quiescent current per transistor), output power as high as 7.5W, 3 groups of headphone outputs + 2 groups of preamp outputs, etc. It is a high-performance rich-sounding headphone amplifier with high power.

Headphone Amp

Two Pairs of Transistors per Channel | 50W Low-Ripple Toroidal Transformer + 19200μF Capacitor Array

The final output stage uses two pairs of output transistors in parallel. The whole device has as many as 16 output transistors. Max output is as high as 7.5W. It can drive all kinds of headphones and IEMs with ease.

The S17 Pro uses the 50W low-ripple toroidal transformer and dual-power design. Digital control and analog are independent from each other, so the analog part can be free from interference. What’s more, it has the 19200μF capacitor array. They together make the S17 Pro so powerful and rich-sounding.

Headphone Amp

Rigorous HiFi Component Selection | Complex Cooler Structure

The components used for the S17 Pro are high-quality ones that are carefully selected, such as the high-quality HiFi electrolytic capacitors, the ceramic capacitors, the organic thin-film capacitors, the communication-grade PCB, etc. Everything is aimed at good sound.

The class-A amp’s transistors are always working in the linear area, which causes a lot of heat. aune's industrial designer built a complex three-dimensional structure, making the heat sink on the transistor + heat plate at the bottom + chassis form a whole cooler system. And the heat goes out through the rear plate heat emission holes. The class-A stability is thus guaranteed.

Headphone Amp

Multi-Connectivity, Preamp Outputs Available | Multi-Function Knob & Remote

The S17 Pro has 3 headphone outputs, 2 groups of preamp outputs and 2 line inputs, satisfying your needs in different scenarios.

The front plate is clean and simplistic, and with the one multi-function knob you can adjust current, gain and volume. Let the listening be pure and easy. The well-designed all-aluminum remote makes the control even more enjoyable.

Headphone Amp

High-Spec & Aesthetic Tuning

Headphone amp output (high gain): 4uV; THD+N: 0.00016%. The excellent hardware performance has laid the solid foundation for excellent sound.

The tuning is based on real instrument sounds and music pieces referencing, leading to the signature that is natural and full of musicality.

It sounds great with very low sensitivity headphones like Susvara and Tungsten and has plenty of power to drive them well. You have to spend a ton more money to match or exceed this performance. Pretty much endgame on a budget. Been running this for over a year now with no thermal issues, able to keep in 100ma mode year round. Really can't ask for anything more at this price point! The only downside I've noticed is the volume steps are very strange and somewhat hard to manage but this can be overcome by leaving it at one comfortable level and making fine adjustments from the source material.

A sleeper, amazing clarity and detail. It does run a little warmer than most, but produces great sound. I use it as a preamplifier line level and it compares my reference tube preamp costing 4k. Oh, a keeper due to its ability to extract all the detail at low volume levels so at night no need to crank it .

This amp is making me listen more . I use it for a hifiman he1000se and hifiman he6se v2. Both headphones perform and sound great. I alsonuse a laptop cooler and at 100ma Nad high gain its about 50 degrees. The value is insane and better than a lot of expensive amps.

I'm enjoying this headphone amp a lot and am looking forward to trying different and high quality headphones.Right now I have the LCD-X, my favorite, Sennheiser HD600, the Beyerdynamic T1, and Meze 99 Classic. My dac is the Denafrips Ares12 (has the upgrade). Using XLR connections from dac to amp. It does get hotwhen using max power but that is not necessary for me at this time and I have added footers under the amp for better air circulation. Very happy and at a reasonable cost.

When it’s warmed up to 55 C degree or more, with XLR output, it sounds warm, full and detailed. I used Gustard R26 as DAC. It matches ver well with HIFIMAN HE1000se. Pretty good with ZMF Verite Open and Focal Utopia. The drawbacks are 1) you need to turn it on and wait for 30 minutes to let it heat up to 55 C. Otherwise, it doesn’t reach the potential for that best sound. 2) it will reach 62 C in my case after 1 hour. Very hot. 3) although others stated 100 MA sounds better than 50 MA, I did not hear any obvious change.I ended up return it. Instead, I bought a Violectric HPA V222. It sounds similar and bit more transparent for V222. The night and day difference is the operating temperature. V222 stays in cool room temperature after hours of listening. If AUNE can reduce the temperature to more normal level, this is a great value.

I upgraded to this from a Schiit Asgard 3 and it has been a big improvement in sound quality. When you want a detailed sound that makes everything wide and dynamic the standard 50mw mode will deliver that especially if paired with a very clean or neutral DAC. However I find that it when paired with my SMSL SU-10 can make some things a bit bright if they are not well recorded. But the good thing about this is the 100mw mode which smooths that out and adds a warmth that can take care of that for you. The low gain is enough to power all of my headphones which includes HE1000 V2 Stealth, Meze empyrean, ZMF Atrium, HD 660S, and Focal Elegia with a good range of play with all of them. I'm not finding that I'm typically listening at more than 35 with most of them and like 20 with the focal since its so efficient. I use single ended for everything and never feel like any of my headphones would really benefit from more power. I never hit the 50-something some people say the volume level skips at so I wouldn't even worry about it. And if you do than just throw it on high gain and not worry about it. I keep mine on my desk in my living room and I put it on some cheaper spacers just because it does get warm but not like burn your hand warm. Typically at 50mw mode single ended I don't go above like 48 degrees and with 100 mw mode single ended I don't typically hit more than like 58. It will go above like 60 if you decide to use the balanced on it though. But even then you still have hours before it would hit the max if you ever get it that hot. It does take a little time to warm up in both 50 mw mode from off so I just keep it on all the time. It takes less time for it to warm up in 100mw mode form 50 however it like 30 minutes and that's fine. The only flaw of this product is that there is no way to switch between the pre-out and headphone out so it's always outputting to both. With this amp and my SMSL DAC it increases the sound quality so much that running the pre-outs to my powered Vanatoo speakers makes them sound much better. But evetime I want to switch between headphones and speakers I have to unplug one and re-plug the other which is annoying. But the sound improvement is worth it for now until I can get a more permanent solution.

This amp is 100% endgame. Class A, fully discrete, powerful, and good looking. The last time I heard my Aeon 2 Noires sound this good was on a $3000 Burson amp. Since I haven't seen anyone talk about it, the 100 milliamp mode is much smoother and takes an edge off the treble. To my ears, the 50 milliamp mode sounds more linear. The amp just sounds much more class A in 100 milliamp mode. The one problem with this unit is that it's a heater, but I found a good work-around for this problem. If you have issues with cooling, purchase a laptop cooling base and place it under the amplifier. I can keep this amp on 100 Milliamp mode all the time with this.

When in single ended 50 mode, can keep a stable temperature, but the instant I use balanced cables at the same power mode it shoots up and shuts down because it passed the 69c mark. A bit dissapointing even though it sounded great.

I’ve been listening to music with my headphones through a Yamaha receiver and the sound was pretty good. I was ready to upgrade so I started watching reviews on YouTube for a number of head amps. The Aune S17 Pro always had top ratings for head amps in the $1000 range, so I decided to buy one. I was not disappointed. My headphones are Hifiman Sundara, and I’ve been very happy with their performance. This head amp makes them perform like headphones 3+ times their price using the balanced output. I’m not going to go into any technical details other than to say, I’m hearing stuff in the music I’ve never heard before. It’s like being in the centre of the music and then some. This headphone amp exceeded all my expectations and is the best hi-fi purchase I’ve made in a long time. My next upgrade is going to be a new DAC and I can’t wait to hear what that does for my music listening. I highly recommend amp.
