True automotive enthusiasts know how important it is to monitor all aspects of an engines performance. OEM gauges are far from being accurate and warning lights typically only activate AFTER a malfunction occurs. AutoMeter gauges are best known for their accuracy and reliability in extreme racing environments and I use them in my daily driver as well.I’m using the AutoMeter ES series, p.n. 5907 Boost/Vacuum gauge in my supercharged daily driver. It accurately keeps me informed almost like a diagnostic tool for supercharger health and the engines ring and valve sealing properties as reflected by intake manifold vacuum levels. The 270 degree pointer needle sweep is easy to read and the red LED backlight looks great at night. The gauge comes with everything needed for most installations including nylon tubing, an assortment of threaded brass fittings and adapters along with a nylon Tee for tapping into a vacuum source. I got their optional stainless steel braided Teflon vacuum tubing for better thermal protection in my application.

My wife picked this up for me to replace a Pro Comp Ultra-Lite that I had in my car for years and it stopped working properly. I did a lot of searching for what I wanted next and I ended up with 2 choices, the ES or the Phantom 2, I chose the ES. It arrived via prime so it was here in 2 days. My old gauge was a 30/30 but I chose to go with a 30/20 because I only run about 13lbs of boost so you get more sweep with the 30/20. Install was a breeze, I did have to do a little bit of rewiring because the old gauge used a bulb to back light and this one has a LED so there are just 2 prongs on the back of the gauge. I did use the old tubing I had installed in the car, I was going to install all the new tubing but the nbt fittings that came with the gauge sucked. Thats why I didn't give it 5 stars because if I didn't previously have the tubing and fittings from the old gauge I wouldn't have been able to install this one. I would have needed to go to a hardware store and buy fittings that actually tightened up properly. The tube would just pull right out of the nbt fitting. Since I didn't have to install any of the new tubing the install took me about 10 minutes. The backlighting of this gauge is awesome, I love the red and the fact that the entire gauge is back lite. Unlike the old ultra lite's that just use a bulb that illuminates around the side.Love the gauge, just be prepared for the nbt fittings to possibly not work properly.

I haven't gotten a chance to install it yet. It came with a wide array of connectors. It has two brass fittings for the vacuum line. The vacuum line doesn't seem all that substantial, but I'll have to see how it holds up. I put a 9V battery on the terminals to see how it lights up. IT'S GORGEOUS! It matches the interior lights of my Mazdaspeed6 like a treat.UPDATE! It's in and works well. It matches pretty closely what I see from my ODBII reader for boost vs RPM. The red does blend nicely with my Mazdaspeed6 gauge lights. It comes with everything you need to install it with your engine. A gauge pod with a lot of depth is recommended to let the line and wires clear the pod and still seat the gauge fully. I did buy an Autometer pod (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009RUXPG/ref=oh_details_o00_s02_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I had to get some 90 degree blade connectors to mount the gauge in the pod without half an inch of gauge sticking out of the pod.
