I don't know how I went so long without this! This is a fantastic asset for my off-grid cabin. My cabin runs on 48V power primarily with Solar. During the winter time, I bring the 48V battery rack home so it doesn't get damaged by the extreme Michigan cold. So during the winter, I am without lights. Historically I've brought a battery from my drill (red brand) along with me and shove a couple of washers in the negative/positive glides so I can still use the lights inside the cabin at least. This involves disconnecting wires in a few places, and is incredibly annoying. Same thing when the batteries get a little low and we don't have much sun for a few days in a row. This little unit splits the main power from the 48V packs, but also have my drill battery terminal connected. This makes it incredibly easy to flip which one is providing power.I actually have the 48V connected to the secondary input, and have the drill battery terminal wired to the main - so whenever the 48V pack gets low, I can throw the drill battery on and it flips over to that without even a blip.Flipping back to 48V does blip for a second, but it comes right back up.

I haven't been able to install this for its intended purpose but I have been able to test it. And it does work very well.In testing this I used two 12 volt motorcycle batteries. For the load I used various 12V devices normally used during camping. After the main battery BMS disconnected the load, the automatic transfer switch instantaneously swapped to the secondary battery. Very cool... There was no interruption of power detected. With this information in hand, I am quite certain that this transfer switch will work perfectly in my motorcycle camper. I won't have to worry about switching batteries when no shore power is available. Definitely the best way to ensure that I never run out of power when camping.Although somewhat limited in power handling capabilities (roughly a max of a 100 watt solar panel), this is a great little device. Get it if you need it.

I have this transfer switch installed in a small scale solar battery system. The primary input of the switch is connected to the load output of my MPPT controller, while the secondary input is connected to a 12v DC adapter plugged into a 110v outlet. This essentially means I can run equipment off my solar battery bank and when the batteries stop providing power (when they drop in voltage and the MPPT cuts off the load) my home electricity will kick in to take over. One thing I did notice is that if I am running my desktop CB radio and the switch fails over from battery to the mains adapter, the radio will blip off then back on. So it's unfortunately not quite as responsive as I would like. However it is still fully functional, and I didn't observe the same behavior when the battery kicked back in. For the lab-esque environment I am using it in, it's more than adequate. I did still knock it down a star for this though, since it's advertised as high-speed.Overall a solid automated transfer switch that makes the output from my solar controller much more useful, since I no longer have to move power cables around when my batteries deplete.

Small and simple to use ATS. Easy to wire into your existing load and has an already terminated plug to go to your auxiliary source. Good easy to read wiring on the front of the case, fast switchover time.

Did not work. I’m an electrician and I guarantee it was hooked up correctly but no output was happening. I used another brand and everything is working perfectly. Idk if it was damaged in shipping or manufacturing was at fault but it did not work

I tested this device at 12VDC at both inputs into a 20 ohm load for a 600mA draw. As shown in the picture the switching dropout time was 30mS, which is what I’d expect from mechanical (i.e. not electronic) switching circuit. The 3 chassis glands should provide a water resistant inlet as long as they are kept tight.I like it: 5/5 stars!
