Kind of hard to do an initial adjustment of the water level. DO NOT remove the plastic plug in the bottom. The gasket will fold up when replacing it. I just sealed it with silicone caulk. Otherwise it works.

Accommodates two two month piglets. Seems very well built.

Use this for the critters to have something to drink. I like how I just set it up n forget about it. Autofills very nice. Material is nice and sturdy. The fact that it came with its own anchors let me put it into the wall instead of on the floor. 10/10

well....this is definitely an outdoor water bowl hahaThis bowl is stout! Solid metal for the most part, with plastic internals for the float valve. I ended up mounting this to an old shipping pallet for my chickens. I have it hooked up to a spigot off the backside of my home and my chickens love it.It does collect dirt at the bottom (chickens be dirty, yo) but it's as easy as removing the drainage screw on the bottom of the bowl and letting it drain out. Sometimes, I just tip the pallet and lift the float valve so it cleans itself. This was a big upgrade for the chickens (and dogs) and I definitely recommend it. This would be way too small for a horse, so do not buy this with that intent.

This is a unique system, which I love. I almost didn't buy it since it is hard to imagine the build quality from the description on Amazon. I am glad I did. It is very well built unit, and works very well.It is a lot smaller than expected - but big enough to get the job done for dogs. If you are watering livestock - I think this will be too small. Unless you have rabbits, small goats, etc. If you have cows, horses, or pigs - better keep looking. We use it in our kennel with Australian Shepards. They are finicky about their water. They want it CLEAN all the time. This unit is easy to modify with an automated actuation valve and a bulk head adapter on the drain. Set a timer to open the drain valve each hour and it refills on its own. This is the only way I have been able to figure out a way to keep these picky dogs happy! The quality of this bowl is A+. Nice stainless, very little moving parts to fail, and a nice simply flap to cover the mechanism. Not much else to say - except it is simple and works amazing. This does need to be screwed to the wall, I don't think it would work well just setting on the ground.Overall, I do recommend this - and personally I have a couple more in my cart to use at other locations at our farm.

My three labs go through about five gallons of water, every three days. Having to fill up their watering dispenser, every three days, means I have to refill their water dispenser's water jug reservoir, I have to take the water jug out of its watering stand; carry it to the kitchen faucet; fill it up with five gallons of water; haul the five gallon water jug (which now weighs roughly 8.34 pounds or 3.785 kilograms) back to its stand, which is three rooms away; then flip the water jug upside down and stick it back into the watering dispenser. For me, this amounts to an almost catastrophic pain in the neck. I'm 75 years old, and I have spinal stenosis. So for me, refilling my dogs' water jug is not only very difficult, having to flip the jug upside down to stick it back into it's dispenser, can take two or three times before it's accomplished, spilling water everywhere.Problem solved.I'm going to drill a two holes through the wall. One hose connected to the water intake, one to the drain hole in the borrom of the water bowl. The float valve on the water intake, assures there is always plenty of fresh water in the bowl, without any over-the=top spillage. The drain hose helps keep the water clean and free of debris. Wham. Bam. Thank You. Mam!All the metal is stainless steel. With a simple wipe, the Automatic Waterier, can easily be kept looking all shinny and new, without any chance of rust or corrosion. It's actually a pretty slick looking device. I think it will look much better than a plain old watering dish, or my former water dispenser. If you don't have any livestock such as chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, sheep, horses, or cattle, who cares? If you have the Automatic Water Bowl, that's all you need to keep your dogs refreshed, happy, and healthy.
