These products seem like they’re made to last a few years and fail. I replaced my old one with this one after my old one failed. Seems like an exact match. I did also shutoff valves before this device so it’s easier for next time.

I got this for my reverse-osmosis system, with all its tubes and potential failure points. Works decently, though I have some reservations about installing it with sticky tape (screw mount avoids problems). Connected to 1/4" tubing fine and fully cut off water when valve cover was lifted. Design makes it easy to test valve periodically by lifting it manually.Valve doesn't cut off until fully lifted. It has a spring, but due to friction it doesn't snap closed until open at least 20° (see photo). It's suggested to install valve with just sticky tape. If there's any water over time, it could easily weaken the tape. Expanding tablet holder doesn't have cover on bottom, so it could expand out the bottom and lift the tape, and not trigger valve. I would have liked to see some supports underneath to force it to expand upwards. It does have screw mounts which avoid the issue with the tape potentially lifting.

I’ve yet to install the item but my initial impressions having installed several things of similar “style” is that it will be easy and is mass of high quality materials that make me feel comfortable installing it for the peace of mind I need to avoid any devastating and costly water leaks.The functionality is a brilliant design and for the small amount of money…it can save you major headaches, expenses, and flooding and abate leakage.Even if you had a whole house “smart water” shutoff this can detect a water leak on a much smaller scale; mechanically , simply, reliably and efficient. Will be considering these for all of my faucets in my second home where there’s a chance of exterior wall freezing and on all my faucets that have a filter.Super quality , A+
