The description for this Twenty Feet Half Inch MTJSWXSY Cord/ Cable/ Wire Management Protector starts off with highlighting Heavy Duty Cord Protector that is flexible, durable and will prevent Pets from chewing cords. This is perfect for my intended purpose for using this wire management system except the critters are not Pets, and my plans call for wire protection in my vehicle that I am restoring back to full function abilities.Previous owners of my C6 Corvette stored the vehicle in an area that attracted critters that enjoyed the taste of plastic wire loom resulting in wires being totally exposed to the elements and now requiring attention for repair. Working with this Cord Protector/ Wire Loom Tubing was a breeze as it is designed to have a center slit that has overlapping coverage when a cord/ cable/ wire is inserted into the belly of the sleeve (loom). Crafted from High-Quality material that is finely (small and tight) weaved creating a protective density that enhances insultation towards dust, dirt, and external leakage as well as deterrent for pesty critters looking for a quick snack. The wire protector (loom) is light in weight which makes for a comforting installation – management process all the easier. I notice product description indicates this loom has self-adhesive features which would not be accurate if one is expecting this loom to have a sticky adhesive property. Instead, the loom has an expandable diameter (fabric like weave material is stretchy) shaped into an open centered tubular formation. The protective weaved loom opens in the center and after inserting cord/ cable/ wire the loom (like elastic) slides back tightly into its tubular form with the ends overlapping one another creating the insulating protection that one would expect. There are no special tools except for a cutting device – Scissors, Box Cutter, Sharp Knife, Razor Blade … and a measuring tool or one can just approximate loom length needs. Suggest always add a half inch or a little more when measuring – if it is too long it is easier to bunch up the loom rather than be short in length and left with minimum options to have complete coverage. My focus for use was to repair a major ground wire connection and protect the exposed wiring, also the lead wires to the alternator needed protection. I was also able to use this loom on my interior audio wiring in which over time electrical tape that was used during initial installation had worn away. With using this protective loom wire management system I liked the matte black look, I liked how the protective loom organized all the loose wires, I liked the ease of inserting wires into the flexible inner sleeve, I Liked how lightweight the loom is which makes for easier handling and processing, I liked the inclusion of the small Zip Ties [12] – I actually used my own larger ones which for me was easier to use. The only adverse comment would be that material looms once cut will fray at the ends unless using a Hot Knife cutter (special tool that for most people would not be wanted or necessary). Suggest with caution – just use a flame (lighter/match) to the ends of the loom before using and one will get the same results as would one get if using a Hot Knife to seal the weave endings.

This is quality wire loom and works well to help keep cables tidy for more complex cable runs and management. Sixteen feet worth should give you enough material for most smaller, home-scale projects. I found it to be rather expensive for what it is, and at this price it would quickly become prohibitively expensive for larger commercial/industrial cases where larger quantities are needed.

Solid wrap, wires fully covered. Plastic wire looms that only have a split, this loom has an overlap so the wires are covered and protected well. I put it on my trailer to keep mice from eating the wires. Seems like it’ll work well. Cuts easy with scissors. I recommend.

As an engineer and tinkerer, I've been wiring stuff all my life. From cars to computers, to audio mixing consoles... I definitely own miles of wire and cables. The most common type of cable protection is the "split corrugated loom" that comes in varying plastic materials, some better than others (nylon vs PVC). Most of the time, getting wire bundles into the loom is a bit of a task resulting in sore and cut fingers. It helps to have a tool designed for the purpose. This stuff was not what I thought it was going to be. It's way better. It feels very nice, way nicer than the usual split loom. It looks way better as well. It's still a little clunky getting the wires in, but overall it requires less effort because the roundness is not as rigid. That of course has a downside in that it will not hold wires together at the end as well if they have some tension on them pulling the bundle apart. Could be fixed with a zip tie at the end though.I would absolutely use this for all my wire dressings if it weren't for one thing. The price. Nearly $50 for 20 ft of 1" loom is just way too much to be practical. It does feel like a premium product, the question is do you want to spend $2.50 a foot for something that will be tucked away behind a desk?

I used some of this cable protector as a wire loom for a custom electrical project on a go-kart, and it's held up impressively so far getting beat on with dirt and constant sunlight. The specific size I got fits 10 gauge wire a bit loosely and 8 gauge snugly, which is perfect for a main battery cable on something small, and I would highly recommend it for custom automotive audio systems. Very pleased with it.
