I needed a high quality splitter to distribute the signal from a 4K apple TV to my older Anthem surround amp (MRX 710) and my newer Samsung TV. I still really like the sound quality of the Anthem and it is functionally new but it only has HDMI 1.4 and was not able to passthrough 4k 60hz HDR. The best it can manage is 4k 30hz SDR which meant I wasn't taking full advantage of the Apple TVs output and Samsung television. Even at 4k 30Hz SDR some streaming channels resulted in a green screen despite using high quality cables further suggesting that the Anthem was too stretched. The Avedio splitter neatly solved the problem. I now have the sound I was used to with the best possible picture quality.

I have an 83" OLED on the wall and the drop down projector screen. Was really looking for something that would do 4K@120Hz but they are rather expensive. Originally tried a 8K bi-directional splitter, but because it only outputs to one display at a time you have to physically go over a press a button. With this splitter it pushes the signal to both the projector and TV at the same time. I use a harmony remote to control everything so if I happen to use the projector I just turn off the TV. Really simple don't need to go over and hit a button to switch to the display I want. They do make a 4K120Hz splitter but it's closer to $300 so for the price you pay for this one, it's a great deal.

I bought this along with one of the various $15 USB 2.0 capture cards (also on Amazon) as a video capture solution for my PS4. The capture card works fine as advertised, but this review is for the splitter, which is not fine. The instruction manual is exactly what you see on the Amazon listing, which is not very clear on how to use this device.A problem that a lot of people are running into is the inability to output 4K60 HDR, as advertised. In my case, the splitter would indeed output 4K60 HDR from my PS4 Pro to my TV (LG CX), BUT only under certain circumstances. This can be verified on the LG CX by rapidly pressing the green button on the remote many times to bring up the "FreeSync Information" display. After some time of troubleshooting, I found the only way to reliably get a 4K60 HDR signal out to the TV is turn on every device in this order:1. The primary display that can display the 4K60 HDR content so that you can see what you're doing.2. The source. Make sure the HDR content is currently being displayed.3. The secondary display/capture cardIt is VERY important that you get the source to display HDR before connecting the second display. In this case, I would turn the TV on, then the PS4 and made sure I was currently displaying the HDR content, and finally plug the capture card into the computer. I have not tried with two TVs since I don't have two TVs, but I would assume you would either have to turn the second display on last or completely unplug that display until the other two steps are complete. And if both of your displays are 4K60 HDR, leave a review to confirm if it works.Of course, this splitter only has HDMI 2.0, which means any device from 2020 and later that uses HDMI 2.1 will be limited to 4K60 HDR.UPDATE: The seller reached out to me in regards to the product. While I couldn't get the product to perform as I want, the customer service was pretty awesome.

Worked well out of the box. However my complicated setup required a lot of trial and error to get working. The issue was not with the splitter but more with the output device settings. Output 1 goes to TV but through an AVR home theater device while output 2 went to a scaler then a capture device then my computer. So, I had to adjust settings on the scaler device to allow my capture device to receive the full 5.1 audio signal. Once that was solved everything was perfect. I got full 5.1 audio and 720p or 1080i video to both output destinations. The splitter is set to Auto and I used good quality high speed 1.4 HDMI cables. The red led on the splitter is a little bright but if it matters then you can hide it behind devices to block the light or put some electrical tape to cover it. I tried a different splitter by another manufacturer and it did not perform in my same setup so very happy that I found this one and got it to work in the end. Customer Service was excellent and reached out to me when I asked for a refund. They gave helpful suggestions which in the end gave me an idea to try that worked. So, I kept the device and did not need the refund. I may even get a second one as a spare/backup

I bought a Roku Ultra for my projector to watch movies via my Plex media server. It's great!Only 1 problem. I also want my Roku Ultra to work on my TV.This product solved the issue, i connected my projector and my TV to this HDMI splitter and now i can watch my Roku Ultra on BOTH the projector and the TV.YES I can watch the Roku Ultra on BOTH the projector and the TV at the same time but i did this so i could easily switch between the two without having to disconnect / connect hdmi cables or buy a 2nd roku.____________Using this HDMI Splitter with a PC + TVI tried to use a 2nd one of these HDMI splitters for my desktop PC thinking maybe i could split the signal out from my PC to 1 PC monitor and my TV but NOPE that won't for my situation which is that i have a GTX 1070 graphics card which has 3 Display ports and 1 HDMI port, my one HDMI port is being used by my VR headset.Display port is a better port to use for a PC monitor.ALSO, they DO NOT make a HDMI to Display port adapter that sends video BOTH ways. Video only goes in 1 direction., Video goes from HDMI TO DP....It won't go from DP to HDMI. So you're out of luck if you try to do that to hook up to this HDMI adapter. You won't be able to connect your DP port on your graphics card into the HDMI port of this HDMI splitter to get video out.HOWEVER, i think i saw a similar video splitter product on amazon but it has DP ports on it. BUT it's a lot more expensive. Not sure if that would work but worth a try if that's what you want to do.______________NEW product HDMI splitter model idea:New device that has:Display port IN (Desktop PC)Display port OUT (PC monitor), HDMI OUT (TV)THIS IS WHAT A PC GAMER WOULD WANT!Play PC games on their TV. YES it can be done with a simple HDMI cable and windows settings (Clone your main monitor via windows desktop settings)But i think it would work even better with a physical splitting device.______________BONUS TIP:HDMI splitter + HDMI hub work great together.I bought a 5 port HDMI port hub to connect more devices to my TV. I connected this HDMI splitter to the HDMI port hub. Now ALL HDMI devices that connect to the HDMI hub will split the video OUT to BOTH my TV and my projector.______________IN CONCLUSION:I highly recommend this product. It works great to split a HDMI video port. The quality looks good on a large 4K TV. It works perfectly.
