I purchased this item so could connect my older VGA monitors to a RPi4. The problem I experienced was a random screen flicker. The monitor screen would randomly go black for a few seconds and then turn back on. To help isolate the problem, I tried connecting the adapter to a 2nd monitor with the same results. I also wanted to confirm that the RPi4 was not the cause of the problem. So I tested using a different adapter and the same 2 monitors and the result was flicker free. Based on the reviews I've read, the adapter seems to performs as promised, I guess mine skipped the QA department.

Used this to add headphone monitoring to my Fuji Xt2. Just plug into HDMI port and insert headphones into the audio!

I've used this adapter for months and needed to constantly unplug and plug it back in when I was switching between working at home and working in the office. Sometimes it worked great and other times it had to be positioned just right for it to work. After seven months it has stopped working entirely and I'll need to buy a new one.

With the shelter in place for kids we needed an adapter for my son’s chromebook to an older monitor. The first adapter that came, the attachment face came off after we tried to detach the converter. Also the micro hdmi plug was ever-so-slightly bent and so it did t work. I sent them an email via amazon and within a 24hours I received a response along with very easy instructions to get a replacement. And few days later voila! I received a new unit that works fine!

I have ordered this item twice in order to connect a second monitor to my laptop for virtual teaching. The first time, the male end stopped connecting. It was clear that something in the wiring had let go or bent and could no longer connect. Although I hadn't been particularly aggressive with my laptop, I assumed maybe I had bent the cable by moving my laptop and so replaced it with the same item. Now the replacement has also broken - this time, the inner wires separated from the gold cover of the male end and the gold cover got stuck in the port on my laptop.. This may work for other uses, but to connect to a laptop, I wouldn't recommend this product, as it seems like the connection will break with only slight movement of the laptop.

I have a flip out digital video camera mounted above my drawing table to record video instruction. The problem was, I had to stop working in order to view the mini monitor on the camera to make sure everything was in frame properly. I did have marks on the table, but the area would change when removing and replacing the camera. I sought a solution through a big electronics store, naturally, who suggested an expensive "on camera" type monitor with a base to sit on my drawing table in front of me so I could monitor the video directly in front of me by just raising my eyes. This solution was $125. I did have, however, an older 17" flat screen computer monitor that I was not using, but the connector was the older VGA type. I contacted the big store for a micro HDMI to VGA adapter and was told they didnt exist. Ha! Found this, and it worked immediately to my complete satisfaction for around $18! How it will work out long tetm, I dont know, but for just $18, I'm not concerned. Great item, thanks!

While this item is affordable, easy to use, and convenient, I find that the build quality isn’t the best. I use my laptop for work as well as on the go so I’m constantly plugging and unplugging the device. In addition, my laptop sits on a stand so the plug always sits at a slight angle. What I’ve found is that the device usually stops working after about 3 months or use. I’m not especially hard on my electronics, and haven’t had issues with other similar adapters that I use. I’m going to try another brand next time, wish me luck.***AMENDMENT***After writing this review their customer service reached out to me and gave me a refund. I had already purchased another unit from a different company but I really appreciate the extra step they took to find me and make things right, so I’m adding an extra star from my original review.

I bought this adapter (VGA female to micro HDMI male) for the specific purpose of using it to connect an old VGA monitor to a Raspberry Pi model 4B.I tried the adapter with 3 different old monitors. Two worked with no issues after a reboot to reset resolution. One of the working monitors had built in speakers. The speakers worked as expected when using the audio port on the adapter. The remaining monitor, a KDS manufactured in 2001, reported the Horizontal frequency to be out of range. The error message said the Horizontal frequency limit for the monitor was 60 kHz and the input signal was 69.7 kHz. The Horizontal frequency may be adjustable in the Rpi's display settings or may be set by the adapter, I didn't explore the issue.I have had the adapter working for a few days. It appears to have survived infant mortality. If it suddenly goes kaput, I will update this review.Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

Bought this after my 88-year-old mom's old PC died. She had a little ASUS Transformer laptop that she had not been able to get used to, and we decided to try and use her large monitor with it (as well as her bluetooth mouse and keyboard) so that it would look almost just like the setup she had before to make it easier on her. Plugged this into her monitor and BAM, the monitor came on with a perfect picture on it. It was the easiest thing we did in the transformation to her new system!
