I have lots of bells at my house, and these made a perfect addition to the collection. Each bell is about two inches in diameter. The finish on the metal is shiny rather than antique, and the tone of the bells is pleasing – real jingle bells! they will hang in my house year round, though they would make super holiday decorations as well.

Their appearance is just fine, as is their size. I've already had a different set hanging over the doorknob of an entry door for years. I wanted these for the doorknob on my other entry door, but they aren't loud enough to be effective. I waited too long to return them.

I retired and moved to a lake six years ago. Seven months later, the holiday season arrived, and I started looking for my Christmas decorations. That was when I discovered the moving company had missed an entire closet full of winter stuff, including about half of my Christmas decorations. Fortunately, my keepsakes were in a different place. But it meant starting over in a lot of ways. (Christmas village, anyone?)Before the Christmas Crisis, I had a leather harness strap with sleigh bells on it. That was gone, so I’ve been looking for something to replace it. Everything I’ve found was either cheaply made or way too expensive for my budget. I wanted REAL sleigh bells. When I finally decided to broaden my scope, I found these jingle bells. Let me say, when they arrived, it took all of about 5 seconds to know these were 5-star bells.Okay, they aren’t my old sleigh bells, but they are just as well made as those were. They’re also nice and shiny, and their tone is a perfect jingle bell sound, so I have confidence in the metal they’re made of. Now if I just had some snow. And a horse. Okay, and a sleigh. Seriously, if you want to know what sound they make, listen to ‘Jing Jing-a-Ling’ by the Andrew Sisters. You can hear bells in the background that are pretty close. Not that it matters much for me, since mine hang on the wall between windows in the sun room. Still, should I decide to put them on the door handle at Christmas, they’ll offer a nice musical accompaniment when the door is opened. Each bell is about 2 inches in diameter and mine hang 17 inches from hook to bottom. All five bells are tied together at one end, but each bell comes on its own rope, and each rope is a different length. The product description says they’re individually adjustable in length, but I like them the way they came. That and I’m a little reluctant to mess with them. (Can you say klutz?) So, I can’t attest to their adjustability. Of course, you can leave them bundled together—which is what I did—or you can separate and hang them individually anywhere you want, even on the Christmas tree.I don’t need all the lights and ornaments up to know these bells will be a fabulous addition to the holiday atmosphere. Then again, I intend to leave them hanging up all year. Merry Christmas, everyone!
