While I don't recommend letting your dogs use these as chew toys, these Avery bumpers are very durable and perfect for playing at the beach. My first pair of bumpers endured over 2 years of rough play from my dogs before they finally bit through the plastic. They love to try and take the bumper from each other, so their toys need to be very tough in order to last. Went with another brand initially, but regretted it within a few days. Plus, the Avery's are basically the same price as the other brands, especially if you buy the pack of 6. Highly recommended.

I bought this product because it did not have a valve that would let water inside. I have lost bumpers to sinking while water training. The shape and texture were interesting, but the diameter was smaller than other products. The plastic is not durable at all, and tears easily. The rope is half the length it should be and the diameter is to large to keep a tight knot in the end. Stay with the bumpers that have been around for years; avoid wasting your money on this one!

We have used the HexaBumper with our dock diving dog for the past five years. At first the quality was good and we would use a bumper for three to four weeks before our dog could successfully bite a hole in it. About a year ago we noticed that the life of a bumper began declining. Today, we didn't even finish our training session before our dog bit through the bumper in several places and bits of rubber were falling out of the holes, like it was crumbling from the inside. It appears the manufacturer switched to inferior production materials in the last year or two. These bumpers are too expensive not to last. We will look for alternatives to this bumper.
