I have ordered four of these bulbs. Only one was able to survive the rough and tumble FedEx trip from China to America. The surviving bulb works very well, producing bright images through the projector, much brighter than those from the previous bulb.The bulbs were shipped inside a cardboard box surrounded by cushioning foam. These boxes had additional protection, either from outside bubble wrap or from an additional cardboard box. One might think this would be good enough for international shipping, but FedEx demonstrated it was not.

First, this is a fraction of the cost of a new unit, so it’s worth trying. So far my client is a couple months in and happy. They use the projector for advertisements in a business. Great so far! I’m shooting for at least 1 year with this bulb before I give it a full 5-Star rating.

I'm not sure where the other reviews came from, but they are not accurate. Ordered 9 of these and 100% were bad and had to be returned. Not 1 or 2, not half, 9 out of 9. Pieces were broken off, packaging was completely inadequate, projectors didn't recognize them, they were even dimmer than long life lamps. Pay a little more and get lamps that work.

Exactly what I was hoping for. I'd ordered a similar lamp from another company here on amazon and the one I'd received was lower in brightness, had broken mounting tabs and a dislocated contact bracket and it took me a long time to get it to somewhat work in the unit. Finally it just gave up. I'm willing to bet it was used, but no proof - the lamp has long since been trashed and replaced with one of the two of these I ordered. Works like a champ - much brighter (I think these are the "regular" as opposed to some kind of "long life" lamps), and came at an excellent price - can't beat that! Our production will look a LOT better now that our D5500U is running full-tilt once again.
