I have not used this bulb yet. But it is a direct fit for the Sony projector I have. This is a hell of a better deal than having to buy the complete cartridge which I did for around $350.00 cause I did not want to wait for the delivery of the bulb only. I did order the bulb and put it in my cartridge that I originally pulled out of my projector. It is very easy to change out. Just take yer time. So now I have a spare for when my bulb goes out again. The bulb only cost around $100 bucks.

Se reemplazó correctamente y solo funcionó 2 sesiones de 2 horas cada una, con 4 días de diferencia entre ellas. Me gustaría pedir garantía pero ya está fuera de la ventana de devolución.

Got a Phillips brand bulb. Great brightness so far. Last lamp was an oem part from Sony that came with projector but it started flickering at 2500 hours. This should last longer than that

Normally they go for around $300 so I figured if it worked its a huge savings. One thing to note is that this lamp is rated at 1500-2000 hours while the ones from Infocus, at $300, are rated at 3000-4000 hours. I ordered two lamps to try them out on July 12, 2016 for just under $40 a piece. They were the correct lamp for the INFOCUS IN3118HD (SP-LAMP-072). One of them was broken out of the box so I returned it. The other one worked fine for just over a year (until August 2, 2017) and got 1037 hours of use before it broke.

BEWARE: Does not even remotely fit our IN3118HD. Have to send it back. Attached is the pic of the lamp I received (left) and the old lamp I pulled out of the projector (right).

The Optoma manual for my HD33 says when the bulb burns out to replace the entire bulb housing, which is about 200 bucks.I called Optoma support and asked about taking apart the housing and just replacing the bulb. I eventually got them to admit that they recommend replacing the entire housing because it's idiot proof, whereas replacing the bulb it a bit more difficult has one big pitfall, which is if you touch the bulb with bare skin then the oil left behind can heat up and blow up the bulb.So when you replace your bulb use latex or nitrile gloves.Being the cowboy that I am, I didn't look up how to take apart the bulb housing. I just started poking around and unscrewing stuff. It wasn't that bad. Getting it back together is easy if you just pay a bit of attention to how you took it apart. If you are a visual person or mechanically inclined then this job is cake.If you find a youtube video or manual with instructions than I don't see how you could possibly screw this up.After getting it all back together the projector works like new.

Before contemplating to replace the light bulb, be sure to go on YouTube and learn how. At any rate, it's fairly simple. I would take pictures of the bulb's location and its wirings before removing them. After replace the bulb and turn the projector back on, don't worry about the burnt smell. It will dissipate afterward. Also use disposable gloves to avoid leaving finger prints on the bulb as it will shorten the life of the bulb.BTW, this bulb was inexpensive but works like a charm. In fact it was the original bulb on my 3D Optoma projector.
