Precision Tool Holding from Colton Industrial Cutting Tools
Keyless drill chucks provide a convenient tool holding solution for changing tools during a job. Colton drill chucks are built to a super precision tolerance to ensure minimal runout. The turning action is incredibly smooth thanks to the use of ball bearings. Ball bearings ensure greater durability over the long haul as well. A TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating ensures a tight grip and durable surface so that the chuck lasts job after job. This drill chuck is an easy upgrade to any shop!
5C and R8 Collets
5C Collets are one of the most universal collets in a machine shop. Part of the appeal of the 5C collet system is its wide range of sizes, commercially available from 1/64” to 1-1/8” in a variety of bores to include, round, square, hex, serrated. The 5C system lends itself to most jobs.
R8 collets are one of the most common ways to securely hold a tool in a milling machine. Colton Industrial R8 collets are made using high-grade tool steel and are hardened and polished.
Both of these collets are also extremely high precision. Having a set on hand saves you from having to shut down a job just because you do not have the right size!
Quick Change Tool Posts and Holders
Quick-change holders are incredibly versatile in the machine shop. Found almost exclusively on lathes, they allow you to quickly swap between tools with minimal setup time. The AXA #1 and BXA #4 holder (pictured), will work with turning or facing tools and help to keep the job running smoothly. The team at Colton Industrial Tools gave their quick-change holders a bit of an edge: a Zinc Nitride (ZiN) coating on all of the hardware gives it a more durable and rust-resistant finish while allowing for smoother thread action.
Colton Industrial holders are made from hardened and ground steel and allow for extra tool capacity over other holders on the market. While most holders have a capacity for tools up to 1/2”, Colton AXA #1 holders have a 5/8” capacity.

This work great, just make sure you tighten the stud before use. They come with the studs loose.

This is the nicest tool holder I own. It is very easy to adjust and holds its adjustment throughout.

I have no negative to report, but I have been VERY happy with Shars, I only went Colton as they state “made in USA”. As soon as I opened these I saw the boxes showed “made in China”. If they didn’t say something untrue, I’d give 5 stars…

Bought 2. One is good but the other has terrible dovetails. It's extremely loose before you lock it to the tool post. Have about 20 different tools holders from different brands and none of them are anywhere near that loose.
