This play mat seems well made. It is easy to clean and the materials all seem built to last. The dinosaurs are cute and have neat colors that seem to attract the baby and get him to interact.

A thick playmat that keep the baby from the cold floor, the dinosaur shape attracts baby’s attention.

I got this play gym mat mainly because I wanted a fun space for my baby to explore while also working on their motor skills. The dinosaur egg shape is cute and definitely a theme that catches little ones' attention. The six detachable toys that come with it are pretty neat too; they seem to keep my baby engaged while they practice tummy time. It's great to see them reach for the toys, and it helps them develop those important sensory skills. On the downside, the gym mat can be a bit bulky when it comes to storage, and sometimes the toys can come off more easily than I’d like during play. I also noticed that while the mat is soft enough, it could use an extra layer of padding for babies who are just starting to roll around. It's not perfect, but it does make for some enjoyable times.Pros:- Engaging design that attracts babies' attention- Six detachable toys for sensory development- Encourages tummy time and motor skillsCons:- Bulky and challenging to store- Toys can detach too easily- Could use more padding for comfort

There is LOTS of competition in this space. So, price is the most critical factor. I did not deduct based on price. But for seller to be competitive, and sell a non-major brand name, price will be key.Padding is soft. The first play mat I purchased, I did go for "cheap" and I got a thin fabric, square, no waterproof bottom. BUT, the solution was simple, I just set it upon one of those 50"x50" floor mats that would later go inside my large playpen. The controversy with thicker padding is when baby rolls over from back to tummy and is face down. The concern is airflow around face/nose. So, even with my thin version, I blew that when I put it on a thicker mat. Obviously, we need adequate supervision for wherever we place baby: crib, bassinet, swing, floor mat, etc. So, again, no deduction for thickness. It comes down again to PRICE.This does come in a nice giftable box. would be a nice gender-neutral gift. However, again, if giving as a gift, how many floor mats does a new mom want? Parents may have a "theme". And if Dinosaur's happens to be the theme then this will be an option. We recently shopped for a shower gift for a new mom, but boy that new mom was very specific about the colors and the theme of gifts. they had a specific baby registry.so again, with that, if buying for yourself, it again comes down to PRICE.Can't say it enough. This is a nice set. Lots of competition. Once baby rolls over and has no interest at staring at the arch, then be sure you want that particular floor mat, and toys.

Five star playmat is nicely padded and comes with all the cloth toys and plastic hanging rings as shown. Easy to set up in just minutes. Really, really good mat and overall design, but nothing special to warrant a $70 price tag. Shop around. There are other brands and styles on the market for way less offering the same or better features. Again, Awesome Playmat - Very Poor Price.
