At this price point, I was skeptical this view camera and mirror would be any good, but with Amazon free returns, I figured I had little risk. I am pleasantly surprised. The mirror comes with rubber bands to mount on your existing rear view mirror. It's a clean install and discrete. And the wiring is small enough to easily hide under panels. You have several options on how to power it up. I choose the option to tie it into the reverse signal so it automatically comes on when I put transmission in R. I have a fairly long pick up truck, and the wiring was long enough--barely, so plan your wire routing carefully with longer vehicles. I did have to supply my own tie straps, but that's minor. Camera quality is excellent, considering the price. Much better than the after market unit my dealer put on 6 years ago. With the camera being mounted on the license plate frame, it takes a little to get use to the new view angle, but I'm very pleased.

I needed a rear view camera for my van as I have a wall blocking the view out the rear windows. This one was extremely easy to plug-and-play, but I wanted to wire it to the reverse light to make it more automated. I got 95% of the job done alone (no electrical skills whatsoever), but I missed a step somehow and had to basically play with it to get it to work. Ended up having my FIL help me finish setting it up. Install directions could definitely be clarified. Otherwise, the item itself is great!

I just installed the back up camera, and it is working good. It took me a few hours ,but it was well worth it. The mounting was easy, the appearance is great ,and the hardest part was probably partially removing the lower plastic door panels on my car, to route the wires, but after that , it was very easy. The instructions were easy to follow, and their customer service was great.

I recently installed this backup camera in my van and I'm very impressed. The installation process was surprisingly easy, even for someone like me who isn't very tech-savvy. The included instructions were clear and concise, and the camera itself was well-designed and fit perfectly. The camera provides a clear and wide-angle view, making it easy to see obstacles and potential hazards. The image quality is excellent, even in low-light conditions. The overall performance of the camera is top-notch, and I feel much safer backing up my car now.If you're looking for a reliable and easy-to-use backup camera, I highly recommend this one.

Excellent product for the price. Very easy to install and straightforward.Connexions are good quality and simple. The mirror that comes with the installation kit is simple and covers existing mirror easily and has a good reflection capability. The integrated camera has a clean, clear image when camera is activated.Overall a great product for my particular need.

I installed this backup camera on my old minivan. The installation is relatively smooth and picture quality is decent. I used the backup light as power source for the camera and display. The unit is turned on by the backup light when reversing. It doesn't draw current when not reversing which is a really good design. The display turns on instantly when shifted to reverse gear. The cons I think of is the camera installation position. The camera is right at the middle near my minivan's hitch opener and is now somewhat blocking my hand when opening the hitch. I can only use one finger to open the hitch now. If the camera location can be shift left or right an inch or so, it would be perfect.

I bought this camera for my older car. Product arrived earlier than expected, installation was easy. The camera works well and is very helpful, especially given this time of the year (Oct). The only thing is the tint on the mirror that comes with the camera, I find it a bit dark to see, particularly with the already tinted window in my car, you just need to get used to it. Otherwise, the camera itself is great and worth the price!

When off, the in-mirror monitor almost completely disappears - it looks almost like any other rear-view mirror. You can see the part which is the powered-off monitor if you look closely, but it's not something you notice or are are bothered by when driving. It's noticeably bigger than the stock mirror in a Honda Accord - it probably looks a little disproportionate but it provides better visibility. The mirror is NOT prismatic (i.e. you can't use the flip lever to switch between day and night modes), but whatever they've done to it greatly reduces glare, so the flip lever isn't necessary. The picture is sharp. At night, the picture is still in color and shows detail for a surprising distance. The wiring is very thin - it's enough to handle the power and signal, but you need to be a little careful with it during installation. Wiring into the backup lights is easy enough for anybody with basic car knowledge. The included taps are way too big for the wires they provide, though, so you'll have to make connections some other way. Also, the supplied wire is very long and should work on almost any vehicle - I had to bundle up the extra wire to keep it out of the way in the Accord.Overall it's a good value for the money.

I bought an excellent backup camera system with a reasonable price. It could be strongly recommendable for people who want a simple backup camera on their cars.I installed this system on my Ford Fusion 2013 in a way for reversing use only. It worked great. Initially I pretty much struggled to find a correct wire connecting to the reverse light. Eventually I figured out that I had to disassemble one of the rear turn signals which is mounted onto the trunk of my car, which makes the job much easier. A stripper was used(a knife would work too) to peel out the wire, and then firmly wired with a red wire onto the camera. Tricky part was that the black wire onto the camera should be connected to the black wire onto the reverse light, It took more than 20 minutes to figure this out and turn on the screen on the rearview mirror, because I followed the instruction printed in the manual and only (+) wire connection with ground did not work in my case. Wiring to the rearview mirror was relatively easy, and the rearview mirror bracket was perfectly fit the original rear view mirror. After installation, everything was perfect except that the screen on the rearview mirror was so reflective during the only shiny day. This uncomfortable reflection to the eyes should be improved or upgraded.5/1/2019 updateAfter around 6 months use, the mirror monitor did not work due to Michigan's severely cold weather, I guess. So, I contacted Emmako to see if they can replace it with a new one. We made several email exchanges to diagnose if the mirror monitor works properly. Unfortunately It turned out to be malfunctioned. So, generously they decided to send me a dashboard monitor. I connected it with my existing rear backup camera. You can check this with photos posted below. It worked perfectly. I truly appreciate Emmako's customer care. I hope it does not cause any problem even though another winter comes.
