This Bafang C18 display works fine in sprinkles to moderate rain environment, enjoy riding in any weather. Please make sure the USB cover are secured in wet environment.
PLEASE BE AWARE!
- This is a UART PROTOCOL version display, it DOES NOT work with CAN PROTOCOL version motors(which has a 5 pin pentagonal connector).
- Different connector means different communication protocol between display and motor.
Compatible with Bafang BBS Series Motors Only
- Works with Bafang BBS01, BBS02 and BBS 1000W mid-drive motors and is NOT compatible with all other motors.
- Using an adaptor cable or cutting off the connectors to connect wires DOES NOT HELP.

I purchased this as a replacement for the same model on my DYI Bafang BBSHD ebike, which I was very happy with until the switch unit failed. The functionality is extensive and very usable. It sure would be nice if rather than being hard-wired, a plug was provided so that replacement switch units could be purchased rather than having to buy the whole package. My display component was still working fine, I disassembled the switch to see if I could fix it, but it was essentially worn out after 3 years of usage. The microswitch associated with the "-" PAS plastic tab was only working intermittently, and the plastic tab contacting the microswitch button was a little sprung and above the level of the switch housing. I tried using some spray contact cleaner on the switch, which seemed to help for a while... for about one 1 hour bike ride, but then it went spastic again on my next ride, mostly sticking in "walk" mode. I disabled "walk mode" and was able to complete my trip using the throttle, but that was not ideal.

The bafang dpc18 display was well packaged, you will need a small allen wrench to install, there is no instructions which installing the display and power switch was simple enough on the handlebars also cable routing use common sense and turn the bars completely to avoid any binding, zip ties helped with securing cables. Now, go to the YouTube channel to maneuver through the menu selections to set it up. My original display was password protected so watching the video labeled “Bafang DPC18 display programming” helped with that and other features.

I had bought a Accolmile Cola bear 29 inch.. Brand new. It came with Bafang motor , but a so called intelligent display. When I first bought the bike it did not power up. Then it just stared working. I thought I had a cool Bike, Few days later the not so intelligent display again diddnt power up. I REPLACED IT WITH THIS UNIT.. Not only did it power up. Its simple to use and the Ebike has much more speed..It also has the usb to chaege my phone or bluetooth speaker. I WOULD REPLACE THE INTELLIGENT WITH THIS WORKING OR NOT,,,AND it intsalls easy.. Not like the stupid one ... GREAT CHOICEE..

I've had two of these displays so far. The first one got ruined when the motor controller went bad so I had to replace it. It works great and displays what I want. I like that the + and - buttons are on a separate pad so you have more options to place it if you handlebars just don't have room. But there are a couple of changes I would make to it:1) I wish it had a quick easy way to reset the trip meter. For this one if you want to reset the trip meter you have to go into the menu, find it and clear it. This takes about a minute because you have to go through several steps. I had a different display in which you simply held down the + and - buttons at the same time and it cleared the trip meter which was much quicker, simpler and handier.2) The diameter of the clamp bracket is too large. You have to pad it with something so that it will fit your handlebars. I guess it's better than it being too small and not having it fit at all. Their best choice would have been to include a couple of simple plastic brackets with various diameters.Other than these two things, the display works well.

This display should be the one recommended for the kit I purchased however costumers are left in the as to what is to complete build of their bike!!!!

I was unable to attach this display to handlebars because the bolts are at least 1/2 inch to short!! Now what? Display does appear to be good.
