The handle came loose just handling it. How am I to use it without the handle falling off. I will need to glue it or wedge it.

I'm a file snob. I grew up with US made files and graduated to Swiss and a few German files (always excellent, still excellent). As the US file industry tanked, things moved to Portugal and Mexico mostly, with a little in Brazil...and then sadly India and China, neither of which can apparently make a decent file, still. These Bahco files are pretty good quality. Not the best, but the teeth are cut decently, edges, tip, and tang are finished ok...but importantly, at least with the few I have, they are still acceptably flat. They are made in Portugal. You can buy better with Grobet, Glardon-Vallorbe, and to a large degree Pferd (although Pferd is not what they were), but these are good. Simonds is now junk - they did Portugal and then moved to India mostly and they aren't worth buying anymore. The quality of Nicholson (which appears to be dying and being rebranded as Crescent) is ok on their flat mill files but many of the others have issues. I bought this 6" half round from Nicholson first but it arrived in orange Crescent packaging and was just really poor...bad teeth, warped so badly as to make it unusable, and returned instantly. I'll keep this Bahco. The 6" half round is great to tuck into a tool bag for touch ups on drilled holes and light chamfering/deburring on cut edges. Slower but compact and good to have with you. The Cut 1 (33tpi) is mostly equivalent to a standard US bastard cut, just a touch finer (nice for this file). The Cut 2 is a lot finer and if you need that I'd recommend going Swiss brands instead. In the Swiss system (which is different than the German system slightly) the Cut number changes a bit depending on the type of file and the size of it. It can be confusing until you get some experience with files in hand. Pferd and Glardon-Vallorbe have good explanations in their catalogs if you look those up.Knocking off one star mostly because the teeth could be better cut and the included handle is kind of bulky and not a great fit on the tang. I replaced it with a different smaller handle. But it's a keeper.

I love this file and every tool I’ve purchased from Bahco. The steel is very hard and high quality. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable. The orange is hard plastic and the black is a textured(non-sticky) rubber. Before I purchased I looked everywhere to find the handle length with no success. For others who are interested, the handle is 5” and the total length is 10.5” because some of the file blade is recessed into the handle. Highly recommended!

I am really happy with the quality of this file. I wish the product page showed the packaging, so since it doesn’t I am posting it. Note that this is the coarsest of three varieties Bahco offers of this shape and size of file.

I have bought Bahco files before and they have been good, so I bought this one and it turned out to be really defective - it had not been manufactured properly, with part of the cutting surface being devoid of teeth, and a peculiar excrescence on the other side of the blade. So I returned it and bought another, which was just as bad as the first one! Probably a bad batch, but surely Bahco should have inspection of goods before they leave the factory? I have a couple of Oberg files the same shape as these and have used them for about 20 years. I wish I could get some more like them.

Comfortable handle, nice aggressive cut but not so coarse that it gets tripped up in use. Small size makes it nice and compact for the tool pouch. This thing cuts aggressively that i would recommene getting a file card to avoid clogging.
