Nice and sturdy. Too large and long for my short arms. This was nice. I just couldn't use it . Bulky.

My son recently got shoulder surgery and ordered this pillow for him to use as he recovers. The pillow itself is a dense foam with a few straps to position your arm in so you can rest comfortably. I like the idea of this pillow, but he didn't like how it actually felt with his arm in it. He felt like he had to keep it up if he was walking around with it on. Unlike the one he got from the Dr. this has very little support to keep the arm against the pillow, it doesn't have a waist strap. This pillow more for sitting and sleeping. I was hoping for one that could work for walking and moving about the house. Took 2 stars off for the lack of stability once your arm is in the pillow and the lack straps to keep your arm secure when walking around.

I ordered this to help during my recovery after upcoming shoulder surgery. It isn't my first shoulder surgery but having been through it before I can tell this will be a huge help for sleeping. You need to keep your shoulder immobilized after surgery and this pillow is good for that once you are sitting or lying down. The only issue I foresee is you will be in a sling, normally with a pillow that rests between your arm and waist, so this will not work if you have that on. This would be perfect if it had an added strap to go up and around your neck to keep your entire arm from hanging. I will come back and add comments after surgery. I am hopeful I can figure out some way to get my sling over this or through the straps.

This was ordered to be used by my uncle who stays with me, he had shoulder surgery to fix an injury that needed to be repaired again after an accident, and this was such a better option than a normal pillow, and has helped him sleep and sit in his recliner much more comfortably than prior. One of the best advantages is that there is a strap to place your hand in while you sleep, this way you do not accidently move in the wrong way during the night. If you are looking at surgery and want something to use for a smoother recovery, this surgery pillow thing is a great choice. I think most everybody will be happy with it.

The Balapet Shoulder Surgery Pillow is firm inside to provide support for shoulder pain with a soft, comfortable & removable cover. I have rotary cuff tears in both shoulders and have not had Surgery. Using this pillow does decrease pain for me. I like that it can be used on both the right and left sides. It was definitely a good buy for the relief it provides me. It has velcro straps midshoulder and at the wrist to hold it in place making it very easy to use. For me it is a perfect fit. It fits under my arm and I can fit my fingers around the end but I think that could comfortably fit many sizes.

I bought this ahead of my total reverse shoulder replacement surgery coming up in a few weeks in case the hospital does not supply anything more than the brace and I need something more. This is dense, thick, and would provide extra cushioning. It is reversible for right or left arm and has a pocket for your cell phone. For me, I'm not sure that I can use this since it is painful just trying to take a photo with it. I tried it while seated and it was still uncomfortable. Maybe the size is too big for me.4-stars for quality, reversible, and pocket for cell phone.
