This "training sock" holds the ball securely, and seems to be well made. However, I still have my son throw towards the "least expensive to repair" part of the room, just in case. The sock has a tendency to slide down while being used, even when tightly secured, but my son does have skinny forearms/wrists.Overall, this has been useful for getting warmed up when no one else is at the field, and a good boredom buster while "stuck inside" watching TV or something similar.

Not having done any appreciable amount of throwing for years, I wanted to get some throwing exercise, both right and left handed. I don't have a bucket of balls, nor do I have a good location to throw them. I have considered going out to an unpaved road somewhere and just throwing the ubiquitous rocks, but it's enough of an inconvenience that I've never actually done it. Best of intentions, and all that.So this sock seemed like a way to refresh my throwing technique and muscles anywhere, even indoors.I first evaluated it with a tennis ball, but it didn't have enough mass to really feel. A baseball is a far better match. Probably a softball would work just as well.Obviously, the ball stops and jerks your hand almost the instant you release it. A day or two of adaptation, and that's not a problem, as long as you didn't intend it as a tool to refine your technique, but just for the exercise. I am even able to improve my aim, picking a point on the opposite wall and watching how well the ball flies in the right direction before coming up short.Right hand, left hand, the limitations are mine, not those of the gadget.

Amazon Vine review of free productThis is a clever little device that functions exactly as you'd expect. You can legitimately throw the ball without worrying about being outside or having to chase it down, making it perfect for practicing in your living room or other indoor spaces. My only very minor issue is with the wrist strap. I wish the Velcro portion were a little longer so it could loosen enough to slide on and off between uses without having to completely undo the strap and rethread it. But honestly, this is a very small inconvenience. While it’s not the same as truly throwing a ball, watching its trajectory, seeing where it’s going, and enjoying the pleasure of a natural follow-through, it does a fantastic job for what it is. Compared to alternatives like setting up a dampening net indoors (if that’s even practical for most people), this is much simpler and more convenient.Overall, it’s a fantastic option for practicing in your living room, backyard, or any small area where true throwing and ball retrieval would be impractical. Thumbs up for this clever gizmo!

This training sock works okay, but it still requires a little care to make sure the ball stays in. I tried using it with a weighted ball and it felt pretty safe inside the sock, but I couldn't help being a little worried that the ball might come out. This could just be my own anxiety though, overall I recommend this training aid if you want to be able to practice and train in a smaller space.

My 12U daughter likes to play catch all the time and we always look for chances to get additional pitching practice. This was a great addition for those times when we can't stop and work on pitching mechanics.Given the setup here, she can hang out in our garage and work on specific pitch mechanics, while not needing us to setup a net or finding clearance for the 40ish foot pitching lane. The bag allows plenty of room for the normal hold of the ball, as well as a clean release - without changing anything with her mechanics. The bag is made of a solid enough mesh that there is no fear of the ball coming loose and breaking something in the immediate area. And the glove holds tight on the wrist with the included strap.Overall, this was an interesting find I'm glad we stumbled upon. Would definitely recommend!
