About this item

  • Base style
  • Contact Arrangement
  • Contact Rating
  • Coil Voltage
  • Optional Features (Basic, Premium and Premium Bifurcated)

Siemens offers a wide range of plug-in relays to meet your industrial needs. Basic style relays are the most economical and are equipped with a mechanical flag indicator only . Premium style relays are full featured with LED and mechanical flag indication, push to test button and typically a latching hold down door which provides a method of activating the contacts without applying power to the coil. This feature is very handy during comissioning and troubleshooting. Premium Bifurcated style relays are ideal for low minimum holding current requirements on the contacts. Typical minimum holding current for bifurcated contacts is 3mA instead of 100mA.

I use this relay to switch between an electric vehicle charger (EVSE) and a hot tub. I use a smart electrical wall switch (120V) to switch between either the hot tub or the car charger. The smart switch allows me to programme schedules or control it through Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant or manually. After almost 3 years in service I have had zero problems. That says it all.

We’re using this as a poor man’s generator transfer switch. When energized, the power is coming from the electrical company service. When power is lost, the relay flips over and allows connection to a generator (if previously wired for it). This device is rated at 40A. However the screws are way too small to accommodate a #6 or even a #8 wire. We had to go buy adapters to put onto the terminals that would then accept the larger wire size. Even for the coil we had to add ring wire connectors in make certain we had a good long lasting connection. Provided you have access to these parts and know what you are doing since this is a high voltage device, the product works just fine.

really simple to use to make a auto transfer switch for my RV from the inverter to the 30 amp plug. later i'm going to mount my generator on the roof and use another one of these to select between shore power, generator and inverter.the basics, if you don't know hit up ol You-Tube to make sure you know what's involved but really keep all your white wires on one side all the blacks on the other i'm using the 120 feed from the generator to trip the coil so i just used a piece of jumper wire from the generator white across the coil over to the other side of the coil and back up to the other leg of the generator.Proeasy to use nice set uponce energized there is no hum etc ( very happy )Consnot really any, but 40.00 seems a little steep... but its been worth it.if it all goes bad i'll update my review.

I use this product to change from battery power to grid after 9 hours of discharge from 9 am to 6 pm every day 7 days a week without failure.

We are using this relay to transfer 12 VDC battery power from a battery charger to a sine wave inverter input. As part of a backup power system this relay's 120 VAC coil must be in the on position while on the grid power. In other words it is almost always turned on. We have had this relay on continuous duty for weeks now with absolutely no problem. It is rated for continuous duty between minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 113 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, we were surprised at how quiet this relay is, considering it is an AC coil power relay.

The relay did not come with a data sheet, nor could I find one. The lead screws are a fine thread, and I was worried that I might strip them on tightening. The coil got warm in continuous operation, so I put a 7.5 watt pilot lamp in series with the coil. This works fine and reduced power consumption to about 2 watts. The application is to turn building lights on and off, which means that it will run for hours at a time.

I am using this for a DIY RV converter install to switch the power from the batteries to the converter when plugged into shore power. It performs well and has a hardy build. I am using a red-dot code keeper extra duty medium cover to keep it safe. It requires some modifications to run the wires. The unit fits snugly in the 1 gang version. If you think you need more space get the 2 gang one.

This is a quality DPDT power relay. I bought it to build a remotely controlled, dust collector switch with drum level detection with red/green indicator lights to visually indicate the state of the drum. It is overkill for my purposes but I wanted something that would be well made and long lasting. I'm definitely happy with its performance so far.
