My 7 year old is a basketball fan & was very excited to get this night light as a gift.The light itself is pretty bright (brighter than his room would generally be at night), but it also isn't bright enough/practical enough to be used as a light for reading a book.The remote control gives you a lot of flexbility to change colors, etc - which is great, although once he finished 'playing' with it - it is generally remained on the same color. In an ideal world, I would have preferred having the controls as part of an app - rather than a remote control (but I guess that is more difficult).Overall, I'm happy (because he's happy) with this night light... but it is not something that he turns on every evening (since he can't use it for reading).

I chose this for a friend who is a JV basketball coach and he LOVES it! It's not big or bulky at all, just something you can sit on your nightstand or a side table to show your love for the sport. The colors are great as they are not bright and distracting, subtle enough to leave on all day and night and not disrupt the mood of the room. If you've a basketball lover, I'd recommend gifting them this, you nor they will be disappointed.

This is perfect in my son’s room. they love this item. the light it very bright. the colors are perfect. So easy to put together. It works perfectly.
