The material is very soft and plush, like a plush stuffed animal. The bottom is a fuzzy material that’s different than the plastic you see on a traditional bathroom mat. In some ways the rug seems too nice to be used as a bath mat. My kids had been laying on it like a play mat because it’s so soft. It feels luxurious so I’m going to use it in the bedroom instead because it feels so good standing on it barefoot. In my opinion it’s worth the price, but everyone are entitled to their own opinions.
