If you're just charging/maintaining standard car batteries (lead acid or AGM), get the cheaper version of this made by the same company. This really seems mostly intended as somewhat of a 'transition technology' kind of product, something that'll charge older lead-chemistry batteries as well as lithium ion ones. It'll push up to 10A per bank (their cheaper version pushes like 1.25A per bank), but if you're storing your batteries for longer periods, do you really need that kind of current? No. If you're trying to 'future proof' then I could see a justification. And of course if you're trying to charge LiFePO4 batteries, then you basically need this. But if you're just keeping your batteries in storage (like I am with my truck camper batteries), then really the cheaper charger is a better deal. And in the future, if I swap my truck camper batteries to LiFePO4, I'm good to go already.

I bought this to keep the two batteries on my Ford Transit 350 Van charged and maintained when I don't use the van for weeks or even months. Those batteries are expensive and I don't want them to run too low that they may get damaged, so to maintain them, I got this very reputable charger from a very good company. I just started using it a few days ago and I can't really tell how well it will maintain the batteries over an extended period of time, but when I connected it to the batteries, they were at around 66% and 70% charged respectively, so I plugged this charger, and the next day both batteries show 100% charge. So I guess it works well. Let's see in the long run how well it keeps working! I know the price of this maintainer is a little high, but it better to get the best, than to try cheap stuff that promises more than it actually delivers. This unit is a good investment that should last for years!

So as soon as I saw this multi-bank battery maintainer I ordered it since it looked like a great upgrade for my garage. I have a storage lift and thought that this would be a better and more convenient way to maintain the batteries on the cars when stored. When I opened the box I quickly found that it isn't quite what I was hoping it would be. For starters I already am using a couple of Battery Tender products on my cars and had assumed that this new unit would use the same style connectors. The new unit does not, so its not just a matter of plugging the leads I have already installed onto my batteries into the new unit. Instead I will need to swap them out at the battery terminals. That would be fine, except the leads on the new tender aren't as long as the one's I am presently using. It seems I will need to see if they make a set of extension for this particular model. The new connector style is a watertight connection which will be great for a boat, but I find it a little odd that they are interchangeable and you can actually switch the positive and negative connections. Good thing the unit has polarity protection! I do like that you can select the battery type including AGM and LiPo. Hopefully I can get some extension leads to make it so I can easily reach both of the cars while they are stored.

I am using this charger for maintaining my 12V batteries and with 20 amps total, it charges two batteries quickly and evenly making it perfect for my boat and motorcycle setup. The charger is compact and well built with indicators that show the charging status clearly. It’s fully automatic so I can just set it up and forget about it knowing it won’t overcharge my batteries. The smart technology ensures safe and consistent charging which is a huge plus for battery health.

Pros:- Charges Lead Acid, AGM and/or Lithium *at the same time*- 2 Banks, 10amp Max each- charging output is 13.4v- Waterproof- Reverse hookup protection- Negative AND positive cables have fusesCons:- Not spark proof (despite claim)- No quick release connectors or alligator style clips.- Bulky- Cannot use both connections on a single bank effectively (to get 20 amp)Putting both cables on a single bank does increase amps and voltage (from 13.4 volts to 14.3), but the unit cannot accurately determine state of charge when you do (it doesn't claim to be able to do so)This unit is pricey and could be better- quick disconnects would go a long way here. I switched to SS wingnuts so I could easily remove/install the unit when needed. If you have multiple battery types I wouldn't hesitant to purchase, but if not there are cheaper options out there.
