The backing is so flimsy that you need a firm surface to just write something.Sorta defeats the entire purpose of a 'steno' pad!

These Steno-type writing tablets are exactly what I was looking for. They are the classic 9" x 6" (roughly), the have the spiral at the top, and they are a very easy-on-the-eyes very pale green. My favorite part are that they have a perforation at the top of each page so I can remove a sheet neatly at the top rather than pulling it directly from the spiral which leaves mess of torn paper pieces. Highly recommend.

These are nice steno pads, good value for the $. The paper is smooth, not rough like some other lower priced pads. Will purchase again.

Just what I was looking for. These are handy for note taking, and have nice quality. I find it a chore to write on thin, poor quality paper. Sturdy covers and easy flipping of pages..no bent wires in the spirals. Happy customer here.
