The probe is a 10 foot (305 centimeter) Avalanche Probe with depth markings in feet.

Very nice compact avy beacon that is very easy to use and understand. Highly recommend for anyone new to beacons

Beacon reads fifty meters when other beacons read ten meters to transmitting beacons, low range is very innacurate making bracketing difficult/impossible. Would have to know where transmitting beacon to actually find signal, deafeating the purpose. The max range for search is probably 10 meters when transmitting beacon is in optimal orientation which isn't acceptable
