This union barb is made of 304 stainless steel and connects two hoses with same diameter in a straight run. This coupling has barbed connections on both ends for connecting two hoses. The barbed stems create a tight seal on flexible and semi-rigid hose when used with a hose clamp or crimp sleeve or ferrule (not included). This fitting is made of 304 stainless steel for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability.

2 inch is not a long connector as the picture represents where multiple clamps can be used on both sides. It is stubby where only 2 clamps can be used on each side. Picture makes one think the connector is about 6 inches long.

It is as advertised. Fit snugly, but was not too hard to slip onto my 1 inch forestry fire hose. I expect it to do the job.

I am a winemaker and this product replaced plastic parts. The first thing I noticed was how much easier it was using stainless steel over plastic. The hoses that this part connects slide and off smoothly. No stains embedded in any part of the steel, it rinses clean every time. Thick, strong steel and well made.
