Easy to install with the supplied wrench. I also used red locktite on the threads for and added measure of security. luckily in Texas, it only cost me $7 to get new License plates.

I must say, if you are looking to secure your license plates these are the screws you need. Also they look great on your car or truck. With out the special tool that comes with it, you can’t remove the screws. This is the security you need for would be thieves.

Good news and bad news, and there are workarounds for the bad news. The good news: Th cone shape makes it so that any would-be license plate thieves won't be able to get it off with an ordinary screwdriver, pliers (including locking) or wrench. And license plates are typically stolen by someone who has a car that was stolen or used in a crime, not some professional license plate thief who does this all day and has the special wrench.Their are three bits of bad news:First, the reports of rust. We don't get rust here in southern California, but I would be concerned where it rains a lot or there is salt on the roads.Countermeasure: Clear paint (or paint that matches the color of the car). Put a bit of paint on the threads and other parts that aren't visible, assemble, and paint the parts that show. .Second, the bolts are a bit large. I wouldn't want them much smaller or someone could simply grab the plate and rip it off your car causing damage.Countermeasure: I bought a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EKVUJC8 and drilled the plastic holes a bit larger.Third, the guys in China who make these have made too many, and the stamp die has worn out, resulting in a wrench that doesn't quite fit the fastener. The people who buy these and resell them need to tell the manufacturer that if the wrench doesn't fit the head they won't pay.Countermeasure: it only took a few strokes with a small file to get the wrench to fit perfectly. Conclusion: with a bit of modification you will have a license plate that is pretty hard to steal. Is it worth the trouble? Your choice.

Worthless to me. I bought them for my 87 Honda for which I had just purchased solid copper historic plates. The threads are too far apart to fit my metric Honda. Then I tried them on my 95 Chevy pickup. They just spun in the holes. They would have held the plate on, but they were so loose that anyone could remove them by hand. As a last resort, I tried them on my 91 Toyota van and had the same experience as with my Honda. Wheel locks are widely available, so why are license plates so difficult to secure?

Wrench is heavy-duty. Installation was a breeze; no problems with fitment at all.My one complaint was the bolts aren't as shiny & polished looking as in the pic. Technically not a big deal, but if you're choosing theft prevention measures based on looks as I was - and you're paying $5 for a pair of bolts - see if you can get a shinier pair :PWorth the money otherwise, for sure.If you're using ONLY these bolts in your lic. plate then look into using some of the blue Loctite threadlocker fluid. For a stronger hold use the red Loctite. If you're mounting an inspection sticker bracket to your motorcycle that's separate from your license plate frame (as I did) you may have to invest another $1 in some additional hardware (lock washer, flat washer) from Home Depot.Anyways, on the whole, this is a good investment with a TON of potential uses aside from lic. plates.
