It just looks like a big hunk of metal. Why it works so well is a complete mystery to me, but if you can drop this lure into a school of striped bass it really triggers them. Put this on the end of braided line and it s a blast catching stripers this way. You really appreciate the fight in the fish. However, it only seems to work when you find a school; you’ll wear yourself out dropping into the lake when the fish are scattered. I guess that there is something about the competitiveness for food of fish in a school that makes them so aggressive. Jigging with this spoon is one of my favorite ways to fish for striped bass.

These work. If using in salt, expect them to wear out after about 25 fish and a trip or two. NBD

I bought it and upgraded to Saltwatrr specs right away because the Saltwater upgrade was sold out. I had a 4/0 VMC treble, a 100 split ring and a 120 lb. Swivel to harness the hook because without a proper harness they can open the hook hole by shaking their head and free themselves pretty easily. I also added an assist hook with split ring to the top swivel in case it gets a head hit. It is formidable! A great flutter presentation from what I've seen.

This spoon REALLY reflects the light at any depth. Jerk it, reel it, or jig it - it gets noticed by every fish that is in close proximity. Several people have asked me: Is it too big for bass? NO, it is perfect for bass - turn it and look at the width, because that is where a bass will hit it. Buy it. I have really enjoyed throwing this spoon.
