With a little creative work this can be adapted to a traditional engine stand. Quality is good and figment to transmission bolt holes was dead on. Spacers will be needed for the bolts and threaded rod use. I used a couple of old sockets.

Bolted up just fine but bent with weight of engine on it. It is for a block only, not complete engine with exhaust and accessories and it bends as soon as weight is applied.

Works pretty good. Locks down tight. It was a little stiff at first because of the paint. After a little bit of use, it is easier to rotate. Solidly built. This is a "must have" if you own an air cooled VW engine. For the money, you cant beat it.

For the price it's fantastic. It's not professional grade but for a home workshop with occasional use I don't think you can beat it. When I first pulled it out of the box I thought it was flimsy and doubted it would hold a loaded engine with confidence, but it does better than I feared. I did not use the bench mount that comes with it as I mounted it in my engine stand, but if you have a work bench sturdy enough to support a VW engine hanging off the edge without tumping over I'm sure it would work just fine.I recommend this.

VW engine rebuild. Much better than a homemade one!

Works well for VW engines. Good price and quality seems good. Already tore down 2 engines on it. Rebuilding after the parts come back from machine shop so we'll see how it does but I think it'll do well. Only con, if any, is that no hardware was included. I used M10-1.5 all thread and hardware to mount. Also doesn't include the sleeve/spacer for the lower stud on VW cases. I recycled a spacer from a VW shock with some thick washers and it works very well. Try it out if you like. So far so good.
