This is a handy screw to use while beaching your boat or jet ski. It is stainless steel so no worry about rust, it is light weight but sturdy and easily disassembles to easy transport and storage. I carry this while boating when I need extra anchor in addition to my Danforth. Comes with a storage bag and loop device to hold your boat line. Highly recommend!

I ordered this because there is a lot of volcanic ash in the shores of the Cowlitz and Columbia rivers where I fish ever since Mt St Helens erupted in 1980 and it's a pain in the arse to drag my anchor out and then put it back in the boat if I decide to stop somewhere. The construction of this sand anchor is very sturdy, all the welds are beautiful and look to have great penetration. The 2 piece handle is great, it screws together through a hoop in the anchor securely and allows for removal if you're gonna walk away so the anchor isn't easily taken out of the ground, even if the boat could still be taken and the anchor left behind. It comes with a carrying pouch to keep both pieces together and easily stored away without much of an issue.I would highly recommend this to anyone in the boating, kayaking, canoeing community as a shore line securing option that will stay stuck until you want to remove it and requires twisting it into the ground and twisting it out rather than having to drive it into the ground and struggle to remove it.

This sand anchor is made of strong stainless steel. The welds are clean and nicely done. It twists into the sand easily and the holding force is strong. Easily enough for a 2-person kayak or a small boat. We didn't test it with a large boat. It stows away easily and isn't too heavy to pack with you. Recommended.

These come in 17", 26" and 36" sizes. All are well made, and will do the job nicely, but I think the 17" and 26" are more versatile, as they will fit into the dinghy front storage compartment. This is the 17", and it is much nicer than the sectional one I have previously used. I like the one piece welded construction (apart from the screw on handles). Much sturdier than others I've used.

I've tested this sand anchor and it's very well made and also works very well. The anchor itself is indeed made of good quality 304 stainless because a magnet will just barely attract it (the higher the quality of Stainless Steel, the less magnetic it will be). And the welds are indeed excellently done. The handle itself appears to be chromed mild steel, which is okay as long as the chrome isn't scratched. If it does get scratched it's best to put a dab of paint over it so it doesn't rust.In use the anchor is easy to screw into the dirt or sand, and it holds very well when screwed far enough for the rope connection to be located close to the ground. I would highly encourage anyone who purchases a sand anchor to get only the length needed to get a good hold when screwed all the way in because it's best hold will be when the rope attachment is very close to the ground. I ordered the 17" version and screwed it in as far as the rope connection point, then I pulled from the same angle as my boat as hard as I could and it stayed perfectly put.We live and travel 100% of the time on our boat and have walked on sand beaches from the upper Long Island Sound area to the Southern Bahamas Islands and all around the Gulf Coast... and up most of the navigable rivers along the way. This 17" anchor is plenty long to hold our 13' Boston Whaler in any sand I've ever walked on. My experience tells me it's also long enough to confidently anchor larger boats to perhaps 24'-28'. I think the longest I would go is the 24" model if I were anchoring a 30' or larger boat. The problem with a longer sand anchor is that you really must screw the entire length into the ground so that the rope attachment is at the ground level. For example, If you purchase a 36" anchor and only screw it in 12" you will most certainly be able to tip the anchor over and pull it out of the sand because the rope is attached 24" above the ground which gives you a lot of leverage. I wouldn't even trust the 36" anchor if the rope were still 12" above the ground. If you want to make sure the vessel is going to stay in place while you go for a walk or take your eyes off of it for any length of time, no matter what length sand anchor you buy, make sure you screw the anchor all the way in so the rope attachment is at ground level.all my best,dr

Good boat or jet ski shore sand anchor. Made from stainless steel and has a padded screw 2-part handle. This one is 36 inches long and will hold any jet ski or most boats to about 20 feet in mild wake or surf. Its well-made and all the welds are solid. The tie-on point is a nice thick piece of Stainless steel also. This anchor comes with a nylon drawstring case to carry it in. In the interest of full disclosure, I don't use this as a boat anchor. I bought one quite a long time ago I screwed into the ground and tie it to trees. I use a pulley as a come along take up tension on it and then start cutting on a tree to ensure it falls in one direction and not close to a house or a fence. I got this one as a second "foot" to use as a come-a-long also. I'm still doing hurricane cleanup, and this will be a lot of help. My disclaimer: What is a 5 Star review? It’s not a comparison to other similar products or the value or cost of what I paid for it. My 5-star review is not saying it’s the best product I have ever seen. It’s an evaluation of the quality of just THIS product it’s craftsmanship and its durability, and, its potential for me to buy THIS product again if necessary.A 5 star review says I would absolutely buy again.

I don't use this to anchor a boat. Instead I keep it my truck with a hand crank winch attached to a hitch insert. I anticipate traveling to remote areas where I may need a way to winch myself out of trouble. With this cork screw pole, I can have something for the winch to pull on, assuming I can get it in the ground to 2ft or more. Haven't tested it out yet, but don't see a problem unless the ground is too hard or frozen. The price of 46 USD seems reasonable to me. I would order this again.
