It is what you would expect from a factory made magazine. It fits and functions well. No issues.

You've probably read all of the other pluses and minuses, and the pluses come out way on top. You may have to adjust the center screw tension. But here's a simple modification that might make life more flexible: It's always annoyed me that I either had to have a round chambered with the mag in (as opposed to the mag being on an empty chamber) ... or once chambered putting in a different load required firing the chambered round. I had asked C-B why they didn't put a "stopper" in so that a mag with an EMPTY chamber could be loaded. This would be a handy additional safety while carrying, but more importantly allow swapping in a mag with different loads, or topping off and reinserting a mag, restoring "7+1." Simply put: I topped a mag and pushed #1 out with a drift; I drilled a small hole (to fit a safety pin) through the cover plate and into the mag body (I did this between #2 and #3). Insert the pin and remove the drift and the mag stays on "Empty #1." To load, fillall 8 stations, insert the pin, and pop #1 out. If you load this way on an empty chamber you can simply pull the pin and bolt in on #2. Or use the same methods to top off a mag and insert on Empty #1, bbolt in, and be back to 7+1. This works nicely if use, say, 14.3gn typically, but swap to 22gn for close, long, or trap shots. In any event I don't understand why C-B did not go with something like this. (Years ago I described how to mod the rifle mag to take long (eg, Predators) loads. Eventually someone started qmarketing that. ;-)NOTE: Please understand FULLY how all of this works before tinkering! You can always use this mag as a "regular" one. A mark on the outside helps!
