The fishing-wire stripper is built with a hexagonal shank that is made to fit any standard power drill to quickly and easily remove large amounts of line at once without having to peel them by hand. It features an integrated clutch that maintains the ideal amount of pressure to keep your reel from overrunning spool. The stripper is finished with an easy-release base to dispose used line.

It's a bit of a gimmick, so I thought til I used it for the 1st time. Quickly strips your line off and makes it easy to recycle. The shaft could be a little longer, but people complaining they can't chuck it I'm their drill must have Shrek fingers. I have big hands and have no problem getting it chucked properly.

Much better than my old line strippers that used the rubber wheels. Just chuck it up in the drill and wind it up in an easy to deal with wrap. Unlike the old ones that would leave a birdsnest on the floor.

I was going to make my own version of this because I thought I could do it for less then $10. I was going to buy two large rubber stoppers then connect them together at the small diameter ends with a bolt that would then be inserted into my cordless drill. The problem was that I couldn't find large rubber stoppers for a good price. So, I broke down and bought this unit without high hopes. I was happily surprised. I've only used it a couple of times so far and it worked great. You have to use a little tension on the line as you get started, but once it has a couple of wraps around the spool, you can go at it at full speed. The clutch feature means that you don't even have to slow down towards the end. The clutch will prevent the reel from being jerked out of your hands when the line reached the arbor knot. After cutting the line below the arbor knot, the end easily disconnects from the barrel allowing the line to slip off the spool. The line will be in a nice coil which is easy to drop in a recycling bin.

This is great. It is fast and easy to use. The built in clutch system makes it easy to use when hitting end of line. A real time saver. Getting ready for this years fishing trip, my buddies and I did 24 reels in no time at all. A great tool.
