These are the worst dowels I have used in my 50+ years of woodworking. Balsa dowels would be stronger. I was working on a simple face frame glue up and more than half of the dowels broke before I even added the clamps. The small amount of money I saved was not nearly worth the lost time. I am going to throw them away and buy some made with American birch or maple.

Good product, there were a few duds in the packaging that looked shady for holding projects together. Overall all worth every penny when you live on a small island in the Pacific and all of the big box stores were completely out of stock and had no idea when they would be back in stock

I ordered these in size 8mm x 40mm. I was able to use them but they were slightly oversized and required that after drilling my hole with my jig, had to go back and manually widen the holes with my drill. I didn't have this issue with dowels used from another manufacturer.
