I was concerned about leaving a firearm in my soft top jeep when I go somewhere that doesn't allow me to conceal carry, and this was the perfect solution. It is solid and much heavier duty and better quality than I expected for the price. Installation was fairly easy with the correct tools, and it fits perfectly under the seat and out of sight. The drawer has very smooth rolling bearings (enough that in a hill unlocked it would glide out on its own) but feels sturdy enough that you could probably step on the drawer while it's open and not damage it. I 100% trust that no one is getting into it without the key due to its location and construction. I absolutely recommend this for anyone with a jeep, even if it's just to throw your wallet in while you're at the beach.

Ok so, I received this as a gift on Christmas from the wife. (She got it off my List) I did have this in my list for awhile, and when she wanted to know what I wanted for Christmas I told her look at the list. I know, get on with it. I installed this in my 15 JK Unlimited, Christmas morning (11am). It literally took 20 mins. to install, it was exactly that easy. Didn't put any thing in it rite away. Here's my issue with it. As I'm driving down my street, and come to the stop sign, and stop, I hear a "clunk". Then when I accelerate, I hear a "clunk". I said to myself, must be box. It is. So, even though this is annoying to me, I still like the product. It is very well built in my opinion, and with the ease of the install i gave it 4 stars. Now, I wish it had some type of spring, or something to put pressure on the back of the actual drawer, to prevent this "clunk" sound, due to the drawer moving back and forth when stopping and going. The reason I wanted this was to hold a firearm in a lockable container. This product is great for such a thing. I do recommend this for you Jeepers out there, that want a lockable storage compartment that is concealed. For now, I will deal with the "clunk". I may modify this later to stop the "clunk". If this doesn't bother you, 5 stars all the way.

First off, if you have a *2 DOOR JK* - THIS WILL NOT FIT!!! You can go through the reviews and many of the bad reviews are due to this not fitting in a 2 door JK. This fit perfectly in my 2014 4-door JK.Other poor reviews are due to the slide being plain, not the ball bearings pictured. It is what it is. It works fine, has fewer things to go wrong, and maybe more importantly - if you forget to close and lock it before you drive (like I did) it will not shoot out at the back of your leg at 50mph when you hit the brakes! When I hit the brakes the drawer did open, but I could only imagine the damage it would have caused if it rode on ball bearings.I bought this item after my Wrangler was broken into at Logan Airport. Fortunately the thief unzipped my soft top window and caused no damage. But, my sunglasses, change, and a pocket knife were stolen. That's when I realized that yes, I do need more secure storage. While this product provides better security than the center console or glove box, any thief worth his salt could get into it if they wanted to spend the time. Fortunately, most do not.Overall, the fit is great. Size is great. Key operation is great. I believe the lock is sufficient as a thief would probably find a way to remove the box before getting the lock open. Well worth the price. Just make sure to follow the installation directions and remove the bracket under the seat that holds the wiring harness.***Please rate my review as "Helpful" if it helped you because it helps me too! :) Thanks! Received the lockbox today, fast and furious with Amazon as always. The box and lock is solid, I was very pleased with the product quality. I bought the box because I needed a place to secure my SR9.. which barely fit but still did the trick and still room left for wallets, cell phones, etc.I have a Jeep YJ, and so I was reluctant that the box would fit even though one review said they had installed it in theirs. So I took the chance and ordered it since I couldn't seem to find an under seat lockbox for my model Jeep. SO I gave it a shot and with some minor mods and adjustments the box was mounted in under an hour.Here is what I did..1. Test fit the box under the seat, slide it back until it feels like it sits snug and square in the recess, (you will see that it will fit further under the seat unlike the model Jeeps its originally made for). Make sure that the box is as far left to the drivers door as it will go, overlapping the the seat frame. You will find it fits snug when the box mount is about 2 inches back from the seat frame mount bolt.2. Once you have the box "snug", (remember the mount on the box will be about 2 inches behind the seat mount bolt and overlapping the seat frame), mark a spot on the floor to drill a whole on the mount closest to the passenger seat.3. Remove the seat.4. Drill a hole at the mark you made for the box mount. IMPORTANT~~ Make sure you make a hole small enough that you will be able to ratchet in a "self tapping" bolt so it tightens WITHOUT a nut! You will not be able to to put a nut on the bolt because there is a body support directly under where you will be drilling.5. Place the box and start the bolt through the hole. DO NOT tight just yet.6. Place the seat back in. Make sure the seat frame is on top of the box mounting ear closest to the door.. This will be how that mount is secured to the floor on that side.7. Replace all the seat bolts and tighten, the tighten the bolt on the outer mount of the box. DONE!!In most cases the seat bolts probably have never been removed so I would recommend soaking them with WD40 about 30 minutes to an hour before trying to wrench on them. Having an air ratchet will make the job much easier too.See pics I posted for visuals on how to mount.
