I used this switch for my 2016 Yamaha electric golf cart in order to have a unique key from all the other Yamaha golf carts in my development without having to cut off the modular connector for an aftermarket switch as this product's connector directly interfaces with my golf cart's (Yamaha) connector. It took swapping internal parts between the old switch and this new one and I wouldn't do it again but it works fine as a 2 position electric switch now. My problem was that this switch is meant for Off/On and then a momentary contact Start, a 3 position configuration. All that does not apply if replacing it in the vehicle it is designed for but it allowed me to see inside the switch. The two switches are very similar, the Yamaha OEM and this one but there are a couple of internal design differences. A bit more thought given to the OEM Yamaha switch design and probably more robust but this B-H Motor switch looks like it will survive almost as long as the OEM switch would. It is not like some of the very poor Chinese copies of Japanese motorsports products that we've all seen and I would buy it for a replacement if I had a Yammy Rhino myself.

My 2013 Rhino 700 with 100 hours on it had an occasional starting problem. Isolated it to the starter switch. Opened it up and found significant wear and carbon scoring. Doesn't say much for Yamaha OEM pasts which are usually pretty good. Cleaned it up, it worked for a while and then it started doing it again. Bought this one. Yes, the location tab is different than OEM, at 12 o'clock instead of 2PM. It took a couple of minutes with a round file to make a new location notch so that "ON" would remain the same and prevent OCD moments. The replacement primary key even fits the OEM rubber surround which is made with a better material than the replacement one. Hoping this one lasts a long time!

Got stranded and had to hotwire to get home. Only lasted 6 months. Buy an extra to keep in your machine or go oem

Works good but it doesn't line up the same in the mounting hole but it works fine. The only issue I have with it, is that it only lasted a year.

Bought my Yamaha Rhino 450 used; it only had 1 key. Of course, I misplaced the key. I use my Rhino for snow plowing and needed to get it going ASAP. Received this ignition switch in a timely fashion. It literally took 3 minutes to install. Works perfectly. This was a lower price than replacement keys. As others have stated, the on/off/start labels on the dashboard do not line up with the key functions, but I can live with that. It works fine. In the summer, when it’s warmer, I’ll cut a new notch in the dash and alight the labels with the functions of the key. I’m sure I’ll find the key for the old ignition shortly...
