About this item

  • BIGTREETECH Manta M5P V1.0 control board are born for Klipper running, designed with the same connector BTB as Raspberry-Pi. Giving you a confident connection with all version of CM4 , and defintely CB1/CB2. A screw rein forced installation is available too.
  • BIGTREETECH Manta M5P board adopts 32Bit 64MHZ ARM Cortex-M0+Series-STM32G0B1RET6 chip, can also run Marlin without CB1/CM4. Support 5 axis stepper motor driver(TMC2209, TMC2208,TMC2130), integrated SPI and UART mode of TMC driver and DIAG pin, easily configurable with jumpers. Please follow the Github instructions for details.
  • Multi-functional interface: Manta M5P supports CAN Bus/smart filament runout sensor, BLTouch, MicroProbe V2.0, Eddy v1.0 auto bed leveling sensor, RGB etc. Onboard SPI interface and proximity switch port for connecting acceleration sensor to enable Klipper's input shaping.
  • The new E-FUSE fuse is equipped, which can respond quickly, enhance self-protection ability, and greatly reduce the motherboard burnout caused by short circuits or ignition.
  • BTT Manta M5P main board reserves proximity switch interface and SPI expansion interface, supports NPN and PNP type selection, (24V,12V, 5V) voltage selection and for users use Klipper firmware to connect external acceleration sensor for acceleration compensation
  • After-sales service: The firmware update and installation instructions for Manta M5P have been uploaded to bigtreetech Github. If you encounter any problems during use, please let us know as soon as possible and we will give you a satisfactory solution.

Product Profile

BIGTREETECH MANTA M5P is a 32-bit motherboard developed by the 3D printing team of Shenzhen Big Tree Technology Co., Ltd. for Klipper running. It can run Klipper with a core board, which greatly eliminates the mass wiring between the motherboard and Raspberry-Pi, and also greatly saves space in the chassis. The BTB headers are designed on Mantta M5P, so that customers can choose to use CM4 or other solutions, thus solving the insane shortage of Raspberry-Pi CM4.

Feature Highlights :

1.32bit 64MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ series STM32G0B1RET6 MCU.

2.The thermistor circuit is protected to prevent MCU damage from shorted heated bed and heater cartridge connections.

3.The CNC fan's voltage is selectable in 24V, 12V, and 5V, no more need for external stepdown thus preventing board damage from user error.

4.Thermistor connection supports pull-up resistance value setting using jumpers, no more extra module needed for PT1000.

5.MCU firmware can be upgraded via an SD card, or use DFU via Klipper's make flash command.

6.BTB connectors are adopted between the motherboard and core board, allowing the choice of other core board solutions in addition to CM4.

7.Integrated SPI and UART mode of TMC driver and DIAG pin, easily configurable with jumpers.

8.Support filament runout sensor, BLTouch, RGB, etc.

9.Replaceable fuse for easy maintenance.

10.Onboard proximity switch port, support NPN and PNP type selection, (24V, 12V, 5V) voltage selection.

11.Onboard SPI interface for connecting acceleration sensor to enable Klipper's input shaping.

12.The new E-FUSE fuse is equipped, which can respond quickly, enhance self-protection ability, and greatly reduce the motherboard burnout caused by short circuits or ignition.

Board works great! Good buy for my Klipper home made printer.

So its a great idea... but not executed well. I mean No fussing with power supply's, not having to pay for a Raspberry Pi, all on board and Can Bus to boot. Wonderful idea, but doesn't work.CB1 is a poor excuse for a CM4 just in Wi-Fi alone, if your running Klipper screen on anything but there SPI screen you need a Raspberry Pi anyway. The CB1 would work than it would update and not work, spotty at best when it did work having to reset and try to upload your g-code before it failed... reset and try again. In the end I ended up buying a CM4 at the scalpers price just to get the Wi-Fi to work. BTT claims it was fixed and well I beg to differ. I have yet to find documentation on the Can Bus, and will be buying a FYSETC can bus module on principle alone.

I bought this board because it has an onboard CAN bus. I had been using a SKR Pro v1,2 with a Raspberry Pi, and BTT U2C board to connect my printer to a BTT EBB36. BigTreeTech doesn't provide any information on how to configure this board with Klipper to use the onboard CAN bus. In fact, in one discussion I saw BTT say they had "solutions" that uses the Manta M8P, U2C and EBB. It seems like they don't know how to configure it for use. Also, the CB1 has issues with basic functionality. One problem I am having is with configuring an HMDI display. I can set the OS to get the right resolution, but applications like KlipperScreen is given the wrong information.
