Protector looks really nice, but is too big for older cro-mo steal frames. Will probably work fine on aluminum and oversize. Bought the smallest size and was still big to hold was very loose. Will try on another frame with larger diamiter chainstays.

PROS:1. Thick enough for good protection2. Thin enough for better tire clearance3. Has a bit of stretch/elasticity4. Affordable5. Nice black carbon fiber appearance without large logosCONS:1. Velcro sticks up a bitThe cheap plastic film chainstay protector on my road bike got dinged up so I originally got a thick Lizard Skins neoprene chainstay protector. However, I had to angle it just right or else it would rub my tires. This one is just the right thickness to protect my chainstay well and also have good clearance for 28mm tires. The edge of the velcro sticks up a bit so I'm using electrical tape to keep it down and not gather dirt. The surface doesn't stick well to tape so I'm not sure how that will turn out. Otherwise, I like the look compared to other protectors which have weird bumps and shapes and logos. For a 54cm carbon fiber Trek Emonda, medium is the correct size

This is a nice product at a good price, but the sizing guidelines are somewhat lacking. Required a return and a reorder of one size larger to get this right (Santa Cruz Tallboy LTc 29er needed a medium rather than a small). The pictures shown in the listing are total dimensions of the protector and neglect the overlap needed for the two sides of the velcro. So you need to take the pictured circumference from the listing, subtract about 1/2" from that for velcro overlap, and then match that to the measurement around your chainstay (using something like a flexible sewing tape).Other than this issue, the protector looks great on the bike and seems a bit more protective than the typical neoprene sleeve.

This Chainstay protector does not stretch or form fit like a “lizard skin” chainstay protector. It looks like it will protect the chain stay…..but because it doesn’t form fit like a neoprene material protector, it looks unsightly, wrinkled and crooked as you try to fit it on a chainstay that is not a uniform cylinder. If your chain stay is tapered at all….or if there are any cables or cable stops it causes the protector to appear very crooked. If you have a nice bike…..you want it to look good & professional. If you don’t care about appearances….it will probably work for you if you can get it to stay in place. It’s not a lot of money…..I would recommend a chainstay protector made of stretchy neoprene so it stays put and stretches around irregularities. I cannot recommend this product.
