I like the look of this unit and would recommend it if you are looking for a cool look. It lets out plenty of light for safety. It would be better if they made it rechargeable.

I put this on a vintage-looking military police style townie bike because the original was missing. I had to modify it slightly because the light doesn’t crank down tightly enough by itself, and tends to fall forward and dip down with the vibration of the bike. I also took the clear plastic lens out and dyed it orange by using some alcohol colored dye. It looks awesome now, and functions as expected. Don’t expect this light to actually illuminate the road in front of you at night though. It’s way too dim for that. But it looks the part. I consider it decorative, and I have a nice secondary light that is actually designed for night riding.

I never ride at night, but tested the light. Seems pretty bright. Removing the batteries was very hard. I suppose it must hold the batteries firmly to keep them in place when hitting bumps. I added extra washers to mounting bracket and have never had a problem with headlight becoming misaligned.
