The pin that is used to insert into the barb broke after3 uses. I didn't manhandle this tool and in fact was very careful each time I used it. Still, you get what you pay for. Spend your money on something that will last. That is unless you'd like to repair the brakes on 1 1/2 bikes. ::-/

I ordered this brake kit for the cutting and barb insertion tool. It's not as nice as the Park Tool HBT-1 but Park tools are so expensive that most people look for alternatives. At first glance, this tool looks like it will work ok. The cutting blade is sharp, I was able to cut brake tubing pretty easily with it. The shape of the insertion tool isn't as ergonomic as the Park Tool but the screw-in tool is sturdy and is made of high grade aluminum so it should last. In the event that you were to place the brake line into the holder incorrectly and you were to bend the tip a replacement tip is provided.Overall this is a decent tool that works ok.

Using with my shimano hoses work fine. Did a pretty neat cut. All seems to work as advertised
