Great lure but the eyes were not yellow, rather they were black and lifeless like dolls eyes. I bought testors yellow enamel to rectify the situation.

This is a BIG lure. The description and package both say that it’s 1.5 oz, but it’s not. I ordered 3 of these and they all weight 2.1 oz. I checked my scale calibration, and it’s correct.2.1 oz is heavy for a casting lure, so these cast a mile. But, they’re too heavy to cast on a ‘normal’ medium-heavy bait caster or spinning setup. You’re going to need a heavy power rod with a quality 300-400 size bait cast reel to launch these.Out of curiosity I weighed some of my 3/4 oz and 1 oz rat-l-traps, and they were just about spot on their advertised weight, so I’m not sure why these are so much heavier.Most of the smaller sized rat-l-traps are made in China, but it says made in USA on the box of these big ones, so that’s a nice bonus.I like the Lectric colors, the reflective film inside is really shiny and flashy, and since it’s inside the clear plastic body, it won’t chip off over time.These are BIG lures, but they work good on bigger Stripers. Just be aware that they actually weigh 2.1 oz, not 1.5 oz, so you need a really heavy duty rod and reel setup to cast them. They also troll nicely.

I've always used my lil' rattle trap in the spring for schoolie stripers in the back bays & estuaries on the Eastern end of Long Island w/great success. I always hoped that they would make a big one...& here it is!! It casts like a rocket & easily goes 50-60 yds tied to 30# spiderwire on a Penn Conflict 8000 w/a 10' med fast lamiglas rod.The treble hooks are beefy & I can feel the bearings rattle & the action is significant. This lure has already earned a permanent spot in my tackle bag.
