I know this is men's pants but my daughter is obsessed with my hero academia couldn't find any in kids so I bought these for my 12 yr old daughter for pajama Day at school who is 5ft 2in & skinny she wears size 16 in girls jeans. Bought her a medium was definitely too big on the waist but thankfully it had a tie to keep her pants from falling. It was long as well about a foot &, 1/2 longer but we sewed/hem it up so she wouldn't continue stepping on them and we didn't want her to trip. Dad also sewed the front hole/button shut (he didn't like that) but it is men's & was a last minute purchase and couldn't find anything in women's either. Material is a good thin not too thin but it's not thick either but at the time my kid wore them it was hot so she didn't overheat in these which was good in my opinion. I'll try a small or smaller size next time see if that makes a difference not sure it will because men's clothing are typically bigger than women's clothing. But overall my daughter loves these, says these are comfy and is happy so that's all that matters. Hope this helps.
