First off, the pre-drilled screw holes are too small. Second, the screws that go below the base didn't screw in flush or slightly into the wood because of the poor pre-drilling (the manufacturer didn't account for the screw heads), so it wobbled when standing on a table top. Third, after I did my own drilling to correct these problems, I found the pre-drilled dowel holes for the top perch aren't aligned straight, so the whole thing wobbled anyway. I should have just returned the thing, but I have plenty of scrap plywood in my shed, so I cut a 12" x 9" piece and made a stable base for it. The point, of course, is that I shouldn't have had to do any of this stuff. You might be able to get away with mounting it to the top of a cage, since the thing has enough flexibility to be straightened out when mounted to a rigid object. But just know you'll have to do some additional drilling or you could easily split the wood when screwing it together because of the too narrow pre-drilled holes. In my opinion, it's not worth it.

a bit small for a large bird but a nice little swing nonetheless. i like this on top of the cage so i have less mess to clean up.
