Just what the Doctor ordered,no different than the one it came with.

The frame has its weak spot which most know to be the canopy posts. The reason is they're hollow. Having then break off the stock frame inevitable if you crash it right.I recommend you strengthen the point where the canopy pin meets the frame either with a thick glue or 3D print pen. If they do break off, you can further strengthen them with a simple repair as i did using a push pin inside. Or wire as others have done though it's not as strong as a SS push pin. My repaired frame canopy pins have outlasted the stock ones. I'm tempted to just break them off to start with and add the structural integration from the start. The repair works that good.If you have this heli, buy the extra frame. It's just worth having.I'll make a blog post on how to do the canopy pin repair. In the mean time, here's the same repair using wire. I recommend using the same method, only using SS push pins instead of wire as they are stiffer.[...]

The weakest part of this frame is the canopy pins they break easily in some fast crashes. You can put Velcro on the landing skid and the canopy and secure the canopy with Velcro as a support to protect the bottom two canopy pins. I used the Velcro from the Lectron Pro 300 may lipo batteries and the Velcro trick works, so far, very good Once I did that, my canopy pins stopped breaking. I am on my second frame having broken all the canopy pins on the old frame. Tue frame is not that hard to change out. It is rather easy to do. I have not tried the expensive after market frames yet and I might not for awhile.

It's ok, same as all little plastic things, there is a weak spot near the tail, and other places, it broke again 3 flights in.I glued it and I am still flying it though.

Whoever packed these should be fired or retrained. These are little plastic parts for a small rc helicopter and the parts were smashed into a box half it's width. I ordered two frames and both arrived with the canopy arms bent or broken. Return was easy but overall it would of been easier to just buy the part at my local hobby shop than gamble a careless packager.

I have 2 mCPX helis, one has the stock frame (I keep it all stock) and the 2nd I've modified with primarily MicroHeli gear. That gives me the ability to directly compare the stock parts to modified carbon ones. This is a dependable stock frame that works well. The primary weakness is that the canopy pins where you attach the canopy to the frame do get broken off. I've gone through several frames now and each has a broken pin here or there. It's a pain as they are not replaceable. For three to five times the money you can get a carbon frame that has replaceable canopy pins. The carbon frames are also much sturdier, which matters if you are going to upgrade your motor and mess around with some of the basic operations of the Heli. For me, I like keeping one stock as a reference and the stock one flies very well so deciding to customize your heli and bling it all up can be fun, but it adds to your flying costs. Modified they are sturdier and do fly better but unless you are going to a brushless motor, most of the other modifications are primarily cosmetic. Sure a carbon frame is sturdier and each micro upgrade makes it just a percentage better and they do add up, but then you've spent enough that you could have bought another stock one all together. It's a trade off, an spare stock one of a cool customized version?4 stars for a reliable frame with the primary weakness being the canopy mounts.

This stock mCPx frame is pretty good except for the canopy pins. Broken canopy pins on my original frame is the reason I purchased this one. I researched all the aftermarket frames and decided for my purposes, I would purchase another stock frame and strengthen it in the canopy pin area. Asteroid Designs offers a carbon cage that will strengthen a stock mCPx frame. You can purchase it here: [...]. The frame and the carbon cage will set you back $20 instead of $45 for an aftermarket frame. If you were to go with brushless motors on your mCPx, the aftermarket frames might be a better choice. For someone that would rather move up to a nicer heli when they outgrow their mCPx, strengthening a stock frame is the better deal.
