Blooms in early spring. Its foliage is a dull, dark green that matures to an outstanding wine-red, burgundy color in the autumn. Mounded and round in growth habit, this slow-growing specimen will reach 4-6 feet tall and wide with age. Be patient with Korean Spice as they sometimes require at least 3 years to reach their mature size and start producing flowers. Grows in zones 4-7 and prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It does not like wet soil. Although, Korean Spice can handle heat, it would appreciate some afternoon shade. Plant near windows, patios, decks, and outdoor living areas to enjoy this sweet, clove-like aromatic fragrance.
