I tow a car behind trucks for my job and I've used similar products from Demco and others. The quality here blows them away. First off the cables themselves are thicker, yet stretch a long way. They have a thick coating of plastic which is important in resisting rust - my other cables rusted out after 2-3 years. If the coating gets compromised, they will quickly start to rust. And you HAVE to replace them if you see any signs of rust - they will not hold (experience talking here). The clasps look really strong, not my favorite kind, but totally usable.Hopefully I will never have to stress-test them. But If I do, I'm confident that they will actually perform up to their weight rating.Very happy with my purchase and glad I spent the extra money.

The rubber retainers are a little awkward to attach - takes some pulling and tugging to get them secured but works fine when secured properly. The cables themselves are easy to handle and nicely covered in hard plastic which wipes clean easily. I used a pair of these for over 5 years towing my toad cross country several times with no issues at all and was pleased enough with them to order a new set when I recently fumbled the attachment of one of the retainers and dragged a hook a few hundred miles. I say the heavier version is better because the replacement set mistakenly arrived as the big brother to these cables (10,000 lbs). Much heavier cable, larger hooks and the spring locking clip is MUCH easier to manipulate. I'd recommend the upgrade even if the load does not require the larger capacity.
