Works well, good soundMy older TV, is not smart and no Bluetooth. In addition, my cable carrier stopped providing cable service. I got this device. Connected this Bluetooth transmitter to the TV’s optical audio output connection and paired them up. Best results in a few moments. Love this thing!

There are times when my wife and I want to use headphones to watch TV, so we do not disturb the rest of the house. My TV does not have 3.5mm out, but it is bluetooth capable. The TV does not support simultaneous bluetooth audio devices, so I was looking for a receiver with a 3.5mm out port. This looked like it covered all checkboxes, so I tried it out.Pros:1. It does not introduce a perceivable delay in audio, so my wired headphones work like my bluetooth with the TV. Audio is reasonably in sync with video.2. It’s a small footprint device, which can be tucked out of the way nicely.3. It uses USB-C 5v, so no heat and simple to power.4. All ports are clearly labeled, and the little LCD is easy to read.5. I didn’t need the instructions to setup. I had it out of the box and running in a couple of minutes.Cons:1. While the low voltage design is nice, it is underpowered. This results in the audio out being very quiet and difficult to hear. There is volume control on the device, but there is a loud “hiss” of poor source amplification if you increase volume beyond “6” (max volume is 16) on the device display2. Audio out is very flat, with only midrange frequencies clearly audible. This is fine for talk shows, but is terrible for anything else. I thought it was my earbuds I was testing with at first, but this was tested the same across all of my full range headsets.Summary: This does perform the functions it describes and is easy to use; however, only if you like listening to audio that sounds like an old single speaker transistor radio.
