This B&M shifter stick assembly is designed specifically for all 2007-2017 Jeep Wrangler models with 6 speed manual transmissions and can be used as either a direct-replacement of the factory shifter stick, or as the finishing touch when used with our JK Precision SportShifter part #45195. I cannot say enough good about this upgrade. I hate it took me 6 years to do it. I never realized that most of the slop in the transmission was the "isolater" on the factory shifter. Just a rubber bushing maximizing the vibration in the shifter. Install is easy, I recommend a 2 claw gear puller to make popping the original lever off a 3 sec job and not a fight. Just back the torx screw out about a quarter of an inch an 2 light turns w the puller and it comes off. A great product it makes it feel like a short throw shifter and just tells you how much waste was in the original design. Highly recommended even at the price.

Needed to address my sloppy transmission in my 2018 JKU. Came really close to selling and getting a JL. I tried this based upon reviews and blogs. Was not sure what a difference a simple stick can make. AllI can say is WOW!!! It now shifts crispy, much like a bolt action rifle. The throws are shorter and the “slop” is gone. The hardest part was removal of the stock shifter. I sprayed Liquid Wrench and let it sit for a couple hours. I then used a vise grip on the shaft and gently tapped with a hammer. My only regret is that did not install this sooner.

The difference in shifting is night and day. Second, I run a Daystar light switch panel with 4 switches for aux. lights, and with the OEM shifter handle when in 3rd of 5th gear, the boot would bump up against 3 of the switches and turn them off. This was extremely annoying. With the B&M shifter the boot no longer bumps up against any of the switches. Third, if I had a large cup in the cup holder and had to hit 6th gear or reverse, my hand would bump up against the cup. No more bumping large cups. The B&M shifter knob is a tad small so I ordered a Speed Dawg shifter knob.

This shifter lever is expensive but made a world of difference in my ‘06 Jeep TJ with the NSG370 6 speed. Paired it with a Speed Dawg shift knob and absolutely love it.

Was unsure how just changing out factory crappy Jeep shifter stick for this one would make a difference especially considering the cost. But wow glad I did no play in stick shifts tight and smooth. Is like driving a whole different vehicle the factory shifter with the rubber mounting point is garbage. Highly recommend this product very very suprised at how great it it highly recommend this for any Jeep with the 6spd tranny. I installed on 2013 wrangler

I purchased and installed one this last summer and 5 weeks later the through bolt that keeps the stick mounted in the assembly just snapped while I was driving. The stick now just spun in place. I was on a road trip through the north end of Vancouver Island with nowhere to get a replacement so had to drive like that for a week. One time I shifted into 2nd and the whole stick just slid out in my hand and I had to rip the boot off to get the stick back in on so I could drive.I figured it was a defect and reurned it as well as ordered a replacement. 5 weeks later the same bolt snapped in half again! Amazon's return policy is 30 days so I can't get it replaced and B&M says they won't honor their year warranty becuase I should return it through amazon which won't take it back now that 30 days are up.I'm out $300 with no help from either company.

I was very excited to install this product and enjoy a smooth shifting simple BALL. Everything was going smoothly until I placed the center console back on and was testing out the "throw" between gears. This stick does not allow me to drop into the lower portion of the gears, 2,4,6,& R. There is a clearance issue from the center console. I assume this is because I have a 1in body lift on my jku. I uninstalled and made every possible adjustment but when I re-installed the center console it was the same thing over and over. It would have been great to know this will not work on a jeep with a body lift. I tried SEVERAL times and SEVERAL hours to get in touch with someone with their tech support with no luck. I considered bending the rod but id rather have y money back. I was unable to drive my jeep at all and had to re-install the original stick/knob. TOTAL waste of time.

About a month and half in, I'm absolutely loving it. I avoided the whole short shift kit, as I don't think that concept works well in a Jeep. I want longer, vaguer shifts. This gives the right amount of leverage, and the isolator drastically reduces that tractor-life shifter vibration. Instead of seemingly shifting vertically, now the Jeep shifts on a horizontal plane. The leverage makes the shifts easier and more ergonomic. The shift knob included works... but if it was half an inch larger in diameter it would be perfect. It's like having a golf ball as a shift knob, which is too small in my opinion. Especially when you're leaning into the door when going off-road, I prefer a larger knob for more confident gear selection and lever placement. But, I can't take a star off for that-- totally subjective.User note-- I had to cut the original shift arm off at the isolator. It does not, and I repeat-- DOES NOT-- just slide off like the video showed. It is clamped on with the force of god. Even after I cut the metal at the bottom, the grip from the factory isolator was so strong I wiggled it back and forth under full strength for nearly half an hour before it came off. Ironically, the factory shift knob popped right off with barely any effort. So your results may vary.

Solid construction and great design. It has a nice low profile, slightly shorter than the stock shifter arm, but not too short. The bend in the shifter is perfect, no more banging into your passengers knees or cups in the cup holder. I’ve noticed a great reduction in shifter shake as well. The only improvement I could recommend would be a heavier shifter ball. The included shifter ball is a light weight plastic. This was installed on my 2015 JKU with the stock shifter kit. I ordered the B&M Precision Sport Manual Shifter kit and will be installing when it arrives. I’ll provide an update when everything is installed.
